Philip you rock, thanks for the photos.

BTW it has been my past airport surface experience for those of you with first heat very wet runs you can deduct 2 seconds from your times compared to other's dry runs with any RWD car at least. I didn't bring my wide brimmed hat so I actually got face sunburned in the afternoon. Guess this will occasionally happen with the airports 70 policy. And so it goes. I really liked the parade laps

Parade laps are okay for a course like this with no crossovers. Way back when, we used to do them always. Not instead of a course walk or a novice walk, but in addition to.
And, they are usually done at the beginning of a run group, so instead of 50(!!!) cars on course, there's only 20-25.
Doing a parade lap with 50 cars is, indeed, a parade!

Did anyone find a pair of silver 6's on the courses. I think I may have lost my "66" off the passenger side of my hooptie.

Yes, they were found. I have no idea where they ended up. But, I remember seeing them. First one... then the other. They may have even ended up in the same place!

I found one silver 6 but I couldn't find you by the time I had to get ready for my run. I left it on the tables by the timing trailer.
thanks for the pics!

They are in the tech box. Both of them. I know this because I put them there!

Maybe Doug wants to go double-or-nothing?!
Really, thanks very much for sharing your car Doug. It drives much smaller than it looks on the outside - I'm amazed I didn't hit a cone (must not have been trying hard enough). A Corvette has been on my car 'bucket-list" and now has probably moved up a spot. Nice ride!
And thank you to all of you who came out, helped out, and put up with my grumpy-ass self. I promise to get more sleep before the next one! Regardless, I cracked the top 10 for a change. Many of those I typically can't beat got to run in the wet, but I'll take it just the same...That's racing!

Doug, I'm down for a three-way. Bring it!
Evan - nice to see you again, and you too, Mike, and Dave, and... it was a "reunion" event!

It was great to be back...
Looking forward to more practice, so I can join the boys gathering in S0. I want $10 under my windscreen wiper!

I get a little queasy when the Mayor starts proposing three-ways. But if he's handing out cash to everyone who beats him, I'll re-class into S0...that's better than a T-shirt!

This will work!! Woohoo.
There will be a Titanium/Pewter contest as soon as I sort out the technical delivery details:)
A foursome would be totally unique.

That video is exactly what I wanted to see... but, I'm not sure what I can learn from it.
How about a still of the FASTiva cornering at low speeds during the Parade Lap... (I'm assuming you curbed your enthusiasm during that run)?
I dunno, this thing looks like it likes to do 3 point turns no matter what the speedometer says.

I guess that answers my question as to weather it pulls a wheel up on the street.

Hey guys,
Thank you for making our first Autocross a great experience. Everyone was helpful and patient with us. Here is a link to some photos I took in the afternoon session.

I'm sick as a dog now so I have a lot of time to reflect about the event. Event with the rain delay it all went very smoothly. It seemed like the rain "cone" rules worked for everyone but me and it was 100% my over driving the car.
I'm still shocked at how well this car handles now on the Star Specs. , I love my cheater tires! Felt like I would under-drive the car to about 80% of its grip, then I would over-drive it to 120% and start killing cones. Under braking the feel is much better but the "stopping" distance is not much better than my Azenis, cornering grip on the other hand feels (is!) magnitudes higher. I haven't really had a battle that close in S4 so the pressure might have been getting to me
The course was most excellent as always!

Now is time to maximize your alignment, negative camber will help those tire grip better and last longer. You will find the 100% level of grip with experience/practice.

Fun event, thankfully the rain left before us afternoon folks ran and thanks to Doug for once again letting me hop in his Exocet when my vette decided it didn't want to run that day. Not sure exactly what was going on, but after sitting an hour or so it fired right back up. I'm thinking it was moisture that got under the dashboard while I was loading the car on the trailer in the pouring rain that morning, either that or a failing optispark. Personally, I think it was all my friend Matt's fault bringing bad reliability mojo down from NC to the car as it had lots of reliability issues when I ran it in NC years ago. Thankfully he is back in NC now and hopefully he took that mojo with him. Unfortunately I can't legally drive the car on the street as its not registered so my testing options are severely limited, I guess I'll just sign up for the "Classic" at the end of the month drag it up there and hope for the best and if it doesn't want to run again hope someone is kinda enough to let me drive their car... again.. Regardless, I'm in the midst of ordering an new engine for the Vee so hopefully it will be making a come back soon with more displacement and power!
Here is the video from my fastest run in Doug's Exocet, sadly not fast enough to beat a stock Toyota.
