M4 needs some love, though.
I'll think about m4. not going to win either s5 or m4. If I can narrow the gap on either leader, it's progress.

Lets see. S5 Miata + FM springs + Bilstein Sports = M4. I like it.

+ 205 tires
Won't be as fast as an M3 Miata... but, it doesn't have to be.

Could you define "slow cars" please? According to Ron's clock and a couple other club's clocks I've gotten my clock cleaned 1/2 the time by Soraya in her daily driver with a zillion miles on it. Both of my cars are now S1 rated garage queens. Damn. Wish I was S1 rated too. I am, however; garage queen 4 star rated tho'.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure most over the counter "name" flashers that plug into your harness have a "return to stock" button/command before going to the dealer. Even my factory installed ECU's have a delete all codes command in both cars. In my RX8 I was taught how to delete all ECU memory by manipulating the ign key and stomping quickly many times on the brake enough times to make the oil needle flip me off once. Tada. The bad = the car defaults into zombie new car mode until it relearns how I normally drive it.
Your VW probably has unimaginable built in codes lurking in there from the last CEO

Doug, there are fast drivers with slow cars, and slow drivers with fast cars.

well, those party poopers at VW figured out a way to count how many times an ecu has been flashed. if the count doesn't match up with service records you get flagged and will have a hard time with any engine claim. piggy back devices may escape detection if removed from the car prior to service.

Ben will sell you the FASTiva. No warranty to violate. Perfect for M4.

hmm I miss m4, I need to come out again, but it will be in m3 due to the diff on the new transmission...and if I can figure out what is wrong with it post engine swap/build/timing jump due to a timing cover bolt backing out. I guess if I can find a set of konis (s on another car I can try m4 on the beater 00 civic

ever since my first FAST event, I've informally benched my times to "that Fit". first event was "a Fit beat me by 4 seconds. What the ?????".
Now I can formally track my progress

I'd join you but my tires are too wide and I already bought my next set so too late to downsize now. I have to keep chipping away at the damn Miatas in S4

One more to the flame. Sara is joining the circle. Tires ordered. Alignment to follow.
