Thanks, I don't think I had fully engaged the clutch before it stepped out. Being forced to shift mid slalom makes finding the proper gear more difficult.

Loren wrote: Sun Dec 17, 2017 9:43 pm Oh, and the results are posted, but somewhat tentative. There were some times shuffled at the very end of the day. Maybe half of the 5th runs for the last run group? Ron's going to have to do some detective work to figure out what happened and fix it. It appears that it won't affect any class finish positions, just "who got FTD".

Once that's sorted out, we'll get the Season Points updated. :thumbwink:
Luckily I was parked towards the rear so hopefully times won't be too hard to sort out. From what I recall it was either the Grey bmw 230 or the dark blue camaro ss in front of me and definitely the Datsun behind me, and the 36.750 was my run. Still wouldn't put me ahead of the time for the Lotus thing in race class but it will give me a pax and second overall which I can't complain about.

Huge fan of the course even though I felt like my driving left a lot on the table. I really liked the back section with all the cones lining the corners, made me feel like I was at a track

Never stayed so late at an autocross but I had a blast, sorry about the insights failure but great news that everyone's okay

I took the same line as phillip, *tried* to carry more speed through the sweepers and get into the shute as straight as possible.

the car is very different, since the control arms were fixed, it was frustrating to drive. I had to baby the car, short shift into 3rd twice because I was on ice through the sweepers. can't be too mad but 36s were possible.

seeing philip 4 wheel slide into the shute was awesome.

I may be a little late to the party, but I gotta say I loved the course. I mean I really loved it. The sweepers and crossovers added a complexity that outshines the usual slalom down, turn around, slalom back. I know there are limits to what you can do with a 150' wide runway, but this course was a great example of the possibilities.

I also really appreciate that we had five runs. It's hard for me to find my best combination of "push harder" and "suck less" in just four runs. That can be frustrating. At this event, my fifth run knocked 9/10ths off of my best clean run up to that point.

And perhaps best of all, the ringer in the cheater Mirage is M4's problem now. I didn't rise above the "line of shame", but at least Tyler did. It's something to strive for at the next Open.

Ah yes, I'm always for cheering on other people's soul crushing accomplishments - yay for you!

Other than that, really did like the course but couldn't break into the 38's. I felt really good about everything from the turnaround through the end and knew to get a bit wide on the out - also got my best times by purposefully inducing throttle-lift oversteer to rotate the car at each element coming back out, but couldn't find any more time over my fast dirty from the morning.

Lastly, my neighbor had a great time and was super impressed on the day - wants to bring out his son while on he's on break from West Point here in the next weeks.

..and thanks for the photos Philip!

Atlanta Hub was a lot worse than Mike's hub. I saw it with my eyes but didn't pix it with phone as would have made me an ambulance chaser. I've seen a few hubs shear but not many. The most impressive was when Philip caught the wheel flying away from the race car and the race car was so stiff it never touched the ground!! What ever happened to Howard's 1979 LeGrand? I miss watching him drive it.

I didn't join the Insight website and put a pix of a vette on there as would have had to admit I couldn't beat it when it had 4 wheels and a full charge. :blackeye:

Joe thanks for the video. I drove the same line clean 5x too but if you don't beat me by 2+ seconds in either of our cars I know you just aren't trying. :thumbwink: Maybe one day I'll get some 305 - A6's like I should have and catch you? Nah. These Toyo's just won't wear out and are okay in the rain. Plus I still have a set of worn stock RE71's to finish off some day.

Thanks to Ron and Soraya doing some detective work to determine what happened, and then how to fix it, the results have now been corrected.

As expected, it didn't change any class finish positions, mainly just changed who got the fastest street tire time and PAX time. That would be Mark Hackett on both counts, if you were wondering.

Season Points update will be coming your way soon.

So much fun where do I start :)
Second consecutive event spinning the car.
Three instructor runs in a Corvette. Awesome ride.
Per Steve, new tweak to car was good but M4 comp is hard to keep up with: Sara, Mike, Soroya, and Loren :respect:

Thanks to all!

It was Clark's vision, but it was Steve's creativity, skill and execution that brought that vision to life!

Loren yes new tires eventually but seeing Carl this week for a flip first. Current tires may be meh to you guys but wow for me compared to the all seasons.

Steve yes indeed enjoying that car mod tho didn't notice it as much as you did. Smaller aspect tires has made the car so perky to begin with.
