What the hell was that???

If that had been clean, and you'd grabbed 3rd in the right place and stayed in 3rd... that would have been FTD. :notworthy:

Ah yes Randys speedometer was set on kilometers for that run..

I just short shifted to 3rd after the turnout and rode it out.

I don't know what i was doing today, I'm surprised I held coherent conversations.

Yup! good ole KPH, just like jesus intended.
And Mark would have got FTD past me by .1 sec if we kept it clean. :chuckle:

And what's up with the guy in the Mustang taking 1st? Shaved almost 8 seconds on his last run? Wtf? Craziness.

Interesting one. I skimmed the results for an obvious error and didn't find one. Usually, with a big time discrepancy like that, if "the slow guy" got a really fast time, that means someone else who "should have" gotten a fast time got his slow time. It seems that none of the fast guys got saddled with a slow time on their last run. Which points to the odd possibility that it could be legit. Fast car, somebody gave him some tips, and he just got lucky? Or maybe he skipped something and didn't get called a DNF? Too late to fix it now, unfortunately.

Yep that could have been just that he had a great run or it could have been in the instructor run or someone else's run time but without my being there I have no room to complain.

Another great FAST event. I really enjoyed the course, it's one I wish I had signed up to run both sessions as there were things I wanted to try but just ran out of time. I'm sure I could have taken the "chicane" three cone slalom before the crossover flat out but didn't want to try it without a better time in the bag in case it didn't work. Another run and I would have gone for it. Definitely could have changed into third on the way out and gone quicker, but I tried it on the second run too late, and ended overshooting the turn around.

Here's my quickest run of the day - again too much speed into the turn around causing way too much understeer / plow. I went in much more under control on my last run without the understeer, but the run was slower overall, so I didn't post it. Need to find a middle ground.

And here was my second run giving Mark a wild ride through the turnaround after my over zealous use of third gear :derp:

Thanks Philip. No idea when you took all these as usual. BUT I know you were on a mission to beat Jason. How do I know? We know don't we  Great job as usual with pix and driving like Mad Max.

Yes, Philip, thank you for the pictures, as usual you made me LOOK fast and it is much appreciated!

I was in the second run group and was seeing the 1st run group drivers coming in with big smiles on their faces and this course didn't disappoint! It was not overly complex, I didn't get lost, and I really FELT fast. I was battling an oil issue, but I am hoping the Datsun 2000 guy will eventually run a morning session so I can pick his brain about set-up and check his car out. I was going to post my fastest run, but the spins are more fun to watch.

I spun right when they started the Cobra and as I was taking my sweet time through the turnaround afterwards, I realized he was coming for me! In the video you can see the Cobra coming on strong. I was driving scared hoping to not get lapped! I think we pulled into grid at the same time!

I remember you mentioning that on grid, really didn’t know how I’d possibly catch you. I didn’t even know about you almost spinning at the turn around. Great video!

After cone-ing away all my fastests runs for 2 events in a row, a couple "code brown" moments on my first two runs Saturday, I made the choice to dial things back, in hindsight maybe not the best decision, but oh well. 9/10ths will only get you 5th place in this crowd I guess..
