Good lord, 1 concrete block spaced slalom cones at the end. How the heck can some of us get our fat 4 doors to fit in between those!
We're going to have to think thin!!CaptainSquirts wrote:Good lord, 1 concrete block spaced slalom cones at the end. How the heck can some of us get our fat 4 doors to fit in between those!
I see something like this happening...Evil MS3 wrote:We're going to have to think thin!!CaptainSquirts wrote:Good lord, 1 concrete block spaced slalom cones at the end. How the heck can some of us get our fat 4 doors to fit in between those!

Looks like I'm going to be working on my "No Lift" badge in this section.Loren wrote:Search the forum for "fishbone". We usually set the cones at an angle, and it's picked up that name. We've done it at least 3-4 times.
Hmmmmm I remember doing a couple of those in the past and I really sucked at them. I'm assuming the main goal is to steadily increase throttle while wiggling through everything. Increase throttle the deeper you get into it since it's spacing out more and then gunning it all the way as long as you barley make it past the last slalom cone to the finish?ImpostorDan wrote:Looks like I'm going to be working on my "No Lift" badge in this section.Loren wrote:Search the forum for "fishbone". If you look closely, as the spacing gets longer it gets tighter horizontally, ending with the last cone wall being offset to the hard side. Of course each cone on the map is about 4 feet wide, so we really won't know until we walk the course. A double cone on one side of the line appears to take up half the square, but in reality it may only consume 2 feet of space.CaptainSquirts wrote:Hmmmmm I remember doing a couple of those in the past and I really sucked at them. Oh damn I didn't catch that, good call.jbrannon7 wrote:If you look closely, as the spacing gets longer it gets tighter horizontally, ending with the last cone wall being offset to the hard side. Every time I see the course the first time, I always say wow, there is a lot less spacing between the elements. Then when I walk it I think, I am going to do this, this and this. Then when I drive the course, I don't do this, this and thisLoren wrote:You guys know that we look at these things when we set them up... and then we drive the course to make sure it works as-intended. And if we need to tweak it to make it work, we do!
What I'm saying is... don't overthink the map. Do walk the course.

Some of us don't need any luck. Whether I run alone or with a co-driver and lose I still end up with only 2 pts which will be another drop season end. Maybe next season the sole competitor will be granted 3 or 4 pts for 1st? Getting almost no points sort of defeats the advantage of pulling up the rear for those who actually show up?AScoda wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wrMvZhYi08twistedwankel wrote:I don't think Drew can handle that.
