Doncha just want to take him on? He doesn't even require a $10 bill under his wiper. Just pat him on the ass.

Last time I shared a ride with Casey, I lost. I'll pass on that one.

As of my last two events I've gone back to my old shameful ways of blasting way too many cones... luckily this event I just barely clipped them whereas the last classic I was completely murdering them. On the right track I suppose lol. I did enjoy the course and the whole day in general, thank you all

This course was super fun. The "wiggly bit" was hilarious fun. I was surprised at how much speed I could carry through there and still side step through those cones.
I did find myself having some trouble finding the right line through the wide offset turns on the bit right after you exit the turn around. Carried too much speed and understeered then too little and was just slow.
Thankfully I didn't cone my last 2 runs and was able to put down an ok time of 44.1.
Getting more and more comfortable with the car again after the total suspension overhaul but gonna take a bit to get as fast I know it's capable of again.

Yup, Saturday was great. Great weather, cool peeps and 6 runs! I had a blast, till I took out the timing light on my last run, that depressed me a bit..smh.
Anyway here's my fastest and cleanest 45.696
https://youtu.be/7-EG_qVA0k0
Also including the video of the timing light punt!

Btw, I'm not cool with 3rd place in M2, but Matt and Taylor are litterally beating me into submission. I've devised a plan, and typically these plans get executed between seasons, but man, these M2 guys have just moved up the execution date. It's all out war now...
Thanks for a great time folks!

Nate, aside from creaming the timer... your tires seem to be protesting too much for the amount of speed you're carrying. I can't tell if that's due to the tire, the alignment, or driver inputs. Inputs don't seem overly harsh, so I'm guessing tires and/or alignment? Are you going to share your upgrade plans with us, or is that all super-secret stuff?

Yeah, so the tires maybe on the way out. They were not top shelf to begin with:Loren wrote:Nate, aside from creaming the timer... your tires seem to be protesting too much for the amount of speed you're carrying. Federal RSRs installed 04/17, has 74 runs.
The alignment I think is fine:
Fronts are right at -3 camber, 0ish toe, and 1.7ish caster.
The rear is what it is, solid axel: -0.1 degrees camber, 0ish toe.
The driver and his inputs- how dare you even question that. Lol
Upgrades: The car is pretty nose heavy (shocker) 450lbs extra to be exact. I'm looking into static ballancing the car, and continuing the rear suspension upgrade with a torque arm install. Yup still running stock upper control arms and bushings, and quad shocks from 1988. These go away with the torque arm install.
Lastly a corner ballance and then drive it for another 8 months or so unmolested.

Nate you saw this in the Mirage thread, right? Good stuff. Rob actually breeds racing Mustangs I think.blacksheep-1 wrote:FWIW..the magic number in a foxbody strut car is 4 degrees, camber, 4 degrees caster. less than 4 degrees caster and the spindle loses camber during the turn, more than 4 degrees and you get camber gain, which I'm assuming you want. This is at 20 degrees from straight ahead.
I'm not sure how much that applies to your car, but since they are both strut cars, I would think at some point, they would exhibit similar characteristics

I haven't been intimate with the RSR, maybe it's just a loud tire?nathanwilliams617 wrote:Federal RSRs installed 04/17, has 74 runs.
Damn, only 74 runs in a year? You need to get out more!
More caster is always good if you can get it. But, that's a nice camber number for a dual-purpose car.The alignment I think is fine:
Fronts are right at -3 camber, 0ish toe, and 1.7ish caster.
I don't know what I was thinking. The driver and his inputs- how dare you even question that. Lol

Part of me wants to understand what all that means. The rest of me doesn't care.Upgrades: The car is pretty nose heavy (shocker) 450lbs extra to be exact. I hope you're consulting with Drew and Rob.

This was a super fun course, great design. I did some casual tire shopping in the grid...thank you for yall's feedback. As always, it was good to see folks and thank you to my early tech partner...we worked like a Swiss timepiece. I jinxed myself on the last run by telling Frank I hadnt spun the Z yet. Here is a video of one of my runs, it is similar to other videos but longer.

Torque arm turns crappy Ford 4 link rear into 3 link for better rear suspension articulation. Panhard bar keeps it centered.
It lets the booty twerk.
You know you are going to need more rear spring, right?
