FAST Gymkhana - SUNDAY, March 3

You can use a backup camera if you think it will help.

You can even bring one of those self-parking cars if you want.

If that's what it takes for you kids to feel like you have a chance.

Newb. Are you sure you're in the right class?
aaronwilliams16 wrote:Can there be a handicap for people who have power steering?
If you NEED power steering to parallel park it, you're just not backing in fast enough.

 I will be one of the youngsters in my class.

If anyone's wondering, the classes are:
M1 - GET OFF MY DAMN LAWN (age 50-70)
M2 - OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER (age 29-49)
M3 - DON'T TRUST ANYONE OVER 30 (age 20-27)

Can you smell that? :dunno:

Smells like... a bunch of young people about to get their butts kicked. :o

That's right, the Gymkhana is turning into The Battle of the Ages! We've got 3 tidy age groups. We're throwing classing to the wind. This time, it's all about the driver. Can youthful sharp eyes and reflexes make up for 35+ years of driving experience? :wise: We'll find out! Scoring will be TEAM based. Incentive to help your fellow team-members get it right!

I've been parallel parking since 1983. :binky:
Time to break out old body-rolling. My Mom and Dad told me to respect my elders so I shouldn't say anything, but their not on this forum

Totally wasn’t gonna take this event too seriously, now contemplating putting the RE71s back on... must resist competitive urges...

Hmm...not sure I trust someone who learned to park in another decade....

Nope - just a little Ben-Gay to ease the muscles after whupping you kiddies. Remember when your parents told you, "this will hurt me more than it'll hurt you"? Not this time.... :wise:

At least it was the same century/millennia.

Parallel parking was required to get a DL in the state of Florida until sometime in the 90's.

I was going to post a poll to see how many practiced parallel parking today. Then also ask how many know what that is? My kids did the much harder "Y" (took me 4 tries to master in my own driveway) in and out clean and they all failed it on test day hitting cones except the one eldest who I made cry before doing. She aced it. Advantage was they only had to do the part over that they failed on the second test. How cool is that. Like saving a video game you failed at and not having to start all over.
