Twinkle Toes? That's "Professor" Twinkle Toes to you, bub!

Jeremy tried to score us a second timer for the practice course, but it didn't happen. I think it was just as well without it. (much to my surprise) Casual, no pressure, no times, just line up and run your own car or whatever anybody is foolish enough to hand you the keys to.

Ed, pick a 2-day Brooksville weekend on the schedule next year and I'll co-chair a Battle-X with you. We can make it happen.

That's 16-17 October, unless someone negotiates an additional weekend.

October?! Yes I WILL do that with you. I have wanted to chair an event (or co-chair) but wasn't sure I could do it. Sorry Steve, I am not sure I know enough to do it by myself next month.

Best ever autoX event I've been to in 10 years of doing this! :D

Book it, Steve!

You could do next month if you wanted to, and it might be good experience to prepare for October. It's really not that hard. We've got an event chairman guide that tells you everything you need to know, and so much of the "work" gets handled by different people that the're just not much to it. You just get to "wear the hat", make sure that stuff gets coordinated, design a course if you want to, and run the show for a day.

In 15 years of autocrossing, I've never heard an event chairman say "that sucked, I never want to do that again!" It's fun!

I agree, I liked the casualness of the practice course.

It's booked. Ed and Loren for a Battle-X in October. Sweet. That's a two-day event, so I guess that means Battle-X one day, regular points event the next, right?

DO IT!
I bet you could find a co-chair easy enough, and/or there's plenty of folks in the background (me, Loren, Jamie, etc) who can nudge you along if you want...no pressure. DO IT!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. That way we don't lose a points event.

Oooh, just had a flash of inspiration... maybe set up the Battle course as a "practice course" on Saturday so that anyone who wants to can play on it when they're not running/working the main course for that day. I sense awesomeness in the making.

I guess that's why they call you "Professor", eh? (see how I left "twinkle-toes" out of it - oops. Did I say that out loud? )

I edited the 2010 schedule sticky to add B.B. and Loren as chairs for Oct.

Looks like the teg has potential with real suspension Dave :)

This last event was loaded with awesomeness, truly an excellent day of auto-x. Having two courses totally rocks, and is totally easy for Brooksville. I too liked the casualness of the practice course - just take yer fun runs... and time it if you want to...or not.
In the end, we all sprnt more time driving than working(and waiting, and waiting...), which is opposite of the usual.

Let's take the lesson from this December event, make as much seat time as possible.

Again, thanks to the Professor for a real innovation.
Also, thanks for the ride-alongs.

Man it REALLY sucks that I missed this event. I was already upset about missing it but now reading the thread and seeing everyone talk about how great the event was only makes it worse.

So why was I not there??? I made the rookie mistake of trying to install an upgrade the day before the event. I would have done it sooner but my shipment of parts didn’t arrive until late Friday. So when I ran into a snag during the install it resulted in my car still being on jack stands Saturday morning. Yes…I was not thrilled to say the least.

The GOOD news – come January, number ‘9’ will be running with a new Exedy stage one clutch, an aluminum Fidanza flywheel, and adjustable Koni sport shocks. If things go my way…I may even sneak in a new exhaust by then too. Yellow_Colorz_PDT_02

Looks like I should save up for some race rubber. I would have dominated Class C. :D

Of course, I would have been the only car in Class C.

Thanks to Charles for noticing the results were up. I was doing them on the fly last night before I left the house yet again.

Agreed, Rob. Hopefully it's an easy fix.

Had a blast! At first I didn't think I'd run on the practice course, but after the first run I, well, did a few more. I'll get some videos from my runs (both courses) sometime this week. I don't feel like I did that bad for being on my 2 year old every-day tires. I definitely felt like I drove better on the practice course, though. The competition course had this weird enticing "go faster! FASTER!" vibe to it that I couldn't seem to shake. Probably explains why my times got slower as the group wore on.

LMAO. That probably explains my spin at the finish too. "Sure you can take the last two cones quicker than last time....whoops"

While I'm thinking about it...

The generator is in need of annual maintenance (oil change, spark plug, cleaning, whatever) and Drew mentioned Saturday morning that the carb was leaking and likely to consume us all in a giant fireball soon.

Anybody wanna jump on that?
