That might have worked, Drew... except that John made some significant mistakes in suspension setup before I started co-driving with him this season and we've been chasing our tail since then. Getting him to revert back to stock wasn't going to happen, and otherwise correcting the root cause of the problem (insufficient spring rate) was a matter of waiting until John was ready to spend more money!
So, we started with a car that oversteered wildly... got it to where it was almost neutral, but understeered just enough to keep it from being "really fast"... and now with the new springs, it was initially back to oversteering a bit.
We should be very close to a "gas & go" configuration now. And you won't see another first place sticker.

That's just because with a Mustang, #1 soaks up enough time that there's none left for tinkering with improvements. Ask Chris Baron.

I got them updated last night right before bed. Need to review them, PDF them and post them.
Tonight.

I had a great time @ your event & you made me feel very welcome. Thanks so much for the hospitality & to those that put on the event!
You guys have some very talented drivers & GREAT competition--I really enjoyed participating in it. I appreciate Loren allowing me to squawk on the mic, w/o even knowing me lol
Thanks to Dave B (and GREAT job driving!) for tipping me off to the event on the FR-S/BRZ forum.
I hope to see you guys more often--now that I know abt you...
George B.

I took a quick look last night under the car and all 4 sway bar endlinks are attached with bushings on both ends. I'll try to look in more detail tonight.

You keep good company, George.

And people who don't know how to announce don't often ask to.
Glad you enjoyed our little event.

Why did Bill Cassidy run in the second group instead of with the rest of M1? Just surprised when I looked at the results and saw that. He ran while I was working and didn't think about the classing.

We had a couple people run out of class for various reasons. Some had to leave early, and it didn't affect their work assignment, so we allowed them to run earlier. Some were cars that were reclassed, and it's a BUNCH easier to just reclass them and not change their run group.
Pretty sure Bill was in the latter category.

It is a name you will soon become familiar with.

I know him as "Chin Cam". Master of ancient art of sneaking peek to see if fly is down.
Can't hide anything from the Mayor.
Chin cam was a failure as far as documenting an autocross run, sadly.

Since all my best runs were dirty, any recording from my car would be NSFW for language. No music...just language.

I think you threw down the challenge when you claimed an aspiration to announce like Dave Lehman...difficult to leave that untested.

Yeah George is good on the mic...much better than me but I don't mind trying!
Good event, great job by everyone involved. I was hoping to eek out another second in the Camaro but didn't drive well enough this time.
Maybe I need to work on my reaction time at the tree

Might see you guys at the next one.

Now THAT'S funny!
I said that I aspire to announce like Greg Creamer w/ SPEED, but nowhere near as whacky on the mic as Lehman
I do admit that he literally makes me LOL @ times, when announcing...
Thx Loren & Vivek.
I do plan on seeing you guys more often, as I begin the STX build on my car. I need practice on concrete!

"The Baron" buys these old stock Mustangs for less than most of us spend on a new set of wheels and tires. I think "The Course Builder's" Mustang is 26 years old and most of us spend more repainting our cars than he has in it by now. Amazingly both these guys routinely win against much "nicer/newer" cars. Must be the lighter weight from things falling off
I have the Lee Iacola signature 86GT that keeps going up in value. Go figure?

Trying desperately to not slide the car around--although Dave was very quick using that method!

Here is my best run...albeit not as exciting as some of the 'faster' runs. Sorry for the minute lead in.
