Oh yes. I started my "project thread" last Feb., and I still haven't gotten the first "tune" done. Hobbies are great, but sometimes, other stuffs takes priorities...

The original 4
GTFO! I did not know that. Survivors!

( I guess that makes me 25% OG

)

OG is a wholly 100% existence.
It's time-based, so unlike Highlander, there can be more than one.
There are more 100% OG FAST drivers. Only 4 cars remain.

So my car is 100% O.G.
I'm gonna get a sticker for it that says that.

There is at least one more still around.
Hint: It's blue.

We haven't seen Steve's Miata in so long that it's a legend...no one's really sure it still exists.

I'll claim a place, though...I started running the Miata back when FAST was still NASA-X. I also believe that Jason Ball started running what's now Ron's car during FAST's first year. And there are some Sunriders results that include my Prelude (which still turns up as transportation to events sometimes), but I retired that from competition before FAST started. I did find evidence that Rob Edwards ran -- gasp -- a
Chevy at one time!

Doug, we have talked about the future of electronic diffs, and decided that it's not something we need to worry about yet. That kind of tech (if it's effective for actually helping to put down power rather than just eliminating power) is usually only found on higher power cars. Cars that won't play in S5 or M4 due to the tire width limits.
The traction/stability control in my Mirage does absolutely nothing that could be considered good for autocross. I'm sure most cars that are a fit for these classes are in the same boat.

So add a couple Miatae and a Prelude. 7 survivors. Still pretty cool...

Daniel - I like what you've done to your car too! And your times would suggest it agrees with you. Good job!

Thanks. I like it also, but I gotta change the rear up some. I think too much toe in due to car feeling a little pushy and rear not rotating very well at really low speed turns(the box). Currently at 1/4inch total toe in which is not very normal for a awd car to run so I'll have to back it out to 0 toe.
Unless something changed or my memory is failing I thought we set rear toe at 1/8" total toe in.
Funny thing... I rechecked rear toe and it showed 3/16th instead of 1/4inch this time

. I measured 1/4 a couple weeks ago after I replaced a ball joint boot. So I probably somehow popped the axle out and since then it has been going in and out since it wasn't locked in place with the c clip. I put the axle back in and now it's showing 1/8th total toe in.

Ive never aeen the Prelude, it completely pre-dates FAST.
Your Miata is absolutely included, i remember this coming up in the previous discussion, not sure how we got stuck on 4. Jason raced with scca back then. He came to maybe 1 of our events a year and maybe not the first year. Think that's why it wasnt counted. It was surely around.
The Prelude is the survivors' grandfather(mother?)

You underestimate the power of the FAST T-Shirt and Stickers

Personally I would find the battle between you and Soraya very exciting with both your cars set up as is

Mentally I have you two in the same driving class anyhow.
S5 is sort of like watching paint dry for the Miatae scratching for 2nd and 3rd now that Rob has gone off to midpack S4 (which totally baffles me

). Everyone has a plan.

I was still editing it all down. I normally take about 1,300 to 1,600 pictures for each event. A LOT get deleted.

I hate headaches.
Still, very happy with my time. Not sure how I got it but I'll take it.

I'm sure my car had more time in it but I just couldn't get past my headache. Not a good thing for a course that requires this much thinking. The event INHO was great, awesome field of cars and drivers.
Impressive run!

Tonda and I had a great time! The course was great. (and challenging) Going slow in the right places seemed more important than usual, but there were still plenty of spots to fly.
Great pics Phillip!
