Noooooope.

So, my day is done. Had to leave early, gotta catch a plane to Oregon this afternoon.

But, the Early Session was perfect! Almost everybody showed up. Weather was great, course was awesome, and my driving was adequate.

Good way to start a vacation! :thumbwink: Hope the Late Session is equally trouble-free and fun for all.

[whisper]Now everyone, remember the deal we made:
If Loren asks, the afternoon session was about as smooth as it could be, and everyone had a great time, and nothing went wrong. [/whisper]

I will:

[happily] What a great afternoon! It went about as smooth as it could, everyone had a great time, and nothing went wrong! I'd like to thank the entire crowd who hustled and kept us on schedule, even during the group change-over! A round of applause to all of you.

Bill, I like what you've done to the car: the shocks helped the transitions; the camber made for a bit more accurate steering response and a bit less understeer, and the tires upped the level of grip a point or two. Nice! :thumbwink: And thanks for wrangling lunch for the all-dayers! Now if I can only get within 2 seconds of Soroya... :?

Daniel - I like what you've done to your car too! And your times would suggest it agrees with you. Good job! 8-)

I think this event finally convinced Elliot that It's time to replace his 20 year old tires. They were heat cycled out 10 years ago, bro!

I continued my streak of hitting a cone on my would be fast runs that started at nationals, so nix the 52.8 and 53.0, and give me that sweet sweet 53.6?...past that, it was enjoyable as usual. Way to go Phillip, impressive time, I hate you for making me look like a scrub and beating me in what may or may not be a $500 car. I see Mike got down into the low 52's, and drew a high 51? jeeze. Finished my RE71r's off today as well, noticed a pretty significant drop off in grip in my later runs due to what I think was overheating them as I didn't seem to notice the issue on my first two runs. Not sure if that was due to there being nearly no tread so heat didn't dissipate as quickly or if it was just the fact they were old tires at the end of their lives.

The course...everyone has an opinion, at the end of the day it was fun, challenging, and made use of the limited space without being repetitive, so hats off again.

The mirage...lol I legit looked into buying one of those for STF because of how stupid light they are, then the RSX-S happened and STF died as a class anyways.

Thanks again for another great event.

It was really great to see the old gang again, plus some new faces, I brought a battering ram to a knife fight, but still had a blast.
Really glad to see the club doing well and thanks Loren for remembering my shirt!

Preston, I highly recommend not buying a Mirage to autocross. Unless your a sadist who likes playing the underdog.

I've been hearing this same song and dance for a long time. hopefully something stickier won't pull that fast rust bucket apart.

That bad huh? lol I pointed out how large/tall it looked considering the weight when it sat next to two miatas. Is the car pretty much stock other than wheels and tires?

It's really slow. In full mod trim with I/h/e and a tune, it would be better... But it's 1.2 liters and no turbo.

My current setup is wheels, tires, shocks, rear swaybar and an engine torque strut. Would be MUCH better with proper mod class suspension development.

it took me too long to sort out the track in my head. On the last run, the first half went almost perfectly and I knew 51's were there. I forgot that now that I have much more front tire the car turns in faster off throttle and I ate a cone.

good to see more new people and an old coworker out there. proud of collin, bringing out a camry, improving his time by 10 seconds. Joe (or was it jay?) in a black s2000 really improved his driving style, but I would definitely get summer tires on that car. the re71s, for example, handle well in the rain as well.

can't wait until the next event :)

Not my best result, but still a fantastic day. Excellent weather and a fun course.

I was fighting with the limiter all day and had to leave after 3 runs due to some family obligations. I think there was probably a 53 out there for me but I don't think I would have been able to catch Preston or Philip. They both crushed it today!

I would like to formally apologize to the course workers in the 2nd heat of the afternoon.

I hate headaches.

Still, very happy with my time. Not sure how I got it but I'll take it.

I'm sure my car had more time in it but I just couldn't get past my headache. Not a good thing for a course that requires this much thinking. The event INHO was great, awesome field of cars and drivers.

Liked the long course and it was definitely challenging; took a bunch of life off the tires today for sure - but it sure was fun! And while I faired a bit better than anticipated, kinda dumbfounding to be +5 out of FTD! :notworthy:

Sidenote - the super salad buffet was nice change up today :thumbwink:

Loved the long course, it definitely had some challenging bits. Definitely made me realize it's about time to replace these worn out Federal tires for a new set. Best I could come up with was a 56.1, there was definitely more out there but I couldn't find it today.

Gonna spend the next couple months finally replacing the worn out stock suspension with the coilovers I've had sitting in a corner of my garage.
