The future of small lot xcrossing?
https://rallyways.com/7193/largest-miat ... n-history/ 1600 of these in one place + now 30 years the reigning king of sports cars is still being built and getting better or at least faster. Just when I don't think there is anything anyone can do to their chassis/DL they improve it. One thing I find the most humorous is the average age of the current buyer of a new MX5 is 60 years oldCaptainSquirts wrote:I don't get it. What defines a "normal" sports car?

I can see why people have to move to M or P classes as their car ages or gets mis-classed. I did it years ago too when I couldn't find stock parts to remain in the Factory class and I still loved my old reliable cars. Now I merely enjoy my cars and realize all 3 of them are worth less than a new entry level Kia. No thanks so far. Tho' a couple 5 seat Honda hybrids are interesting this year.

I believe that it's a commonly held belief that oversteer > understeer, or at least way more fun. Also, now that the rear is more lose than the front means more grip has been added to the front. If I make the assumption that the rear's overall grip is unchanged, then the overall potential of the car is higher than it was. I just have to figure out how to use that potential. That sounds like a fun exercise, and isn't that the goal? The shock of it all. Yes. Taming the beast is 1/2 the battle/fun. Winning is the other 90%JasonS wrote:That sounds like a fun exercise, and isn't that the goal?

Well, after today's race, i can confidently say I am loving the cars new manners. Had to cut my input speed in half, but since figuring that out I am super stoked. Turn in so much more immediate and precise. I feel like I can put the nose of the car wherever I want to. I am astounded and how much better the car feels in the sweepier turns too. Learned to trust the front of the car more today and it payed off. Got a good feel for the lift off overstear and enjoyed that too. So I give the changes 2 big thumbs up.

Push Harder - Drive as close to the limit of your tires as possible.
Suck Less - Drive something resembling a proper racing line.
