Re: helmet??
Our insurance only requires a DOT approved helmet. Anything with a DOT stamp on it will do.rkinsler99 wrote:Hey everyone i'm new to the site and to autocross as well, i was wondering what kind of helmet is considered ok for autocross?

However, if you're BUYING a helmet for autocross, be aware that most autocross clubs require a Snell rating, currently 2000+, I believe. M (motorcycle) rated helmets are generally accepted for autocross.
HOWEVER, if you're BUYING a helmet and you think you might want to get into track events at some point, you might as well spend a few extra bucks and get an SA (Special Applications) rated helmet. Most track clubs require an SA helmet for the track.
The club has plenty of loaner helmets if you need to borrow one.
