Well, another excellent event. Brian and Mark did well as chairs (had us a little nervous at the beginning...) and all turned out well. Fun course (that I drove poorly, but enough of that). Weather held out. Timing crew did great (and the results are painlessly up already). 8 runs and away by 3. Nice.

Mark, you drove really well, and kicked butt - in general, and mine! I might have to get me some of them Azenis everyone keeps talking about!

edit: Who wants to chair July? September? October? November? December? Sign up now and beat the rush...especially for July!

edit #2: If any of you photogs got any shots of me, I'd love to see 'em :D and all the other wonderful pix of all the other sweet rides, too...

Kicking back in air conditioned splendor
+1 to that

Good event today. That slalom wall was an element I've never seen before and quite tricky to drive well.

Boy was it hot today, on the ride home the weather lady said the UV index was so high that you only needed 10mins outside to get "crispy" as they put it.

That's what I ended up doing. I also spread out some fertilizer.

I don't doubt it. I had on SPF 60+ today and my neck still feels a little bit burned.

Great pix Muddy - thanks for taking them. Awesome event too, with less glitching (that I was aware of) than we have had in a few months. Kudos to everyone that pitched in! I'm with Steven - I didn't drive well, and can honestly say this course exceeded my current skill level. A huge high-five to Ryan for not only pulling the trailer, but showing us how to drive!

I forgot to get my blue walkie-talkie back at the end of the day. I assume it's in the trailer.... I'll just get it next time. I don't mind getting a few more if no one else is working on that.

I did try to make sure we got off to a good start. I did not consider that we may need to order lunch a few days in advance, but it worked out in the end. :D

I learned a lot about designing and setting up course at Brooksville, as well. What seemed to me to be a well-spaced course was painfully tight, but it was easy to adjust on the fly. I think I succeeded in creating a challenging course, as I struggled with this course myself. Next time I will try to create a challenging course that does not cause drivers to hit so many cones.

Anyway, here is some video:

ahh, I was gonna throw away my sunscreen. Maybe I'll save the 8 bucks.

Thanks. Brian Kollar is on it. He went back to the Walmart by the airport to try to return the broken radio, and to see if he could get more - he checked in Pinellas and couldn't.

Brian - thanks for the pix. The one of Brian Hollands is especially nice!

Had a great time as usual, I really liked the way the course was set up, I don't think to many people had trouble with it.

Even with SPF 60 my face and neck were pretty toasty. It took me about 5 hours to cool down after the event, I didn't think I would ever stop sweating :? .

My friend had his first experiance with Auto X and really enjoyed himself, I think he found it's not quite as easy as it looks.

As mentioned I'm on radio duty, the Wal Mart in Brookville was out of them. So I put in a request for the model we need at all the local Wal Marts and Targets, so hopefully they will have them in stock in a few weeks. If not then on to plan "B" and find comparable radios with the same frequency.

They will exchange it with no problem, so when they get one in stock I'll exchange it then.

There were definitely a few areas on this course that favored the guys with decent horsepower. Overall I liked this course... the cone wall slalom was an interesting change of pace.

Thanks again Steve for tossing me the keys for a run. I'll PM you if I decide I'm ready to go the miata route.

I have many times before in the past, I think it was before you started running with the club... it hasn't been out since November-ish last year.

Right now I'm actually on the fence between selling it or keeping it and addressing the crappy brakes + brake booster setup.
