August FAST festivities...

Postby Gerry » Fri Jun 22, 2012 11:41 am

I'm new enough to have never been around for the August break from the season. I know FAST does some kind of festivity (was it gokarts last time?), so I figured I'd get the ball rolling.

What did everyone have in mind?

We're flexible.
You're not the first one to mention karts.
Suggestions are welcome.
Sunday August 19th is NOT an available date, btw.

I liked the place last year, but we were a little tight in that room.

I really would appreciate it if this could be on a sunday or if it's on a saturday at least 4 weeks notice so i can attend. Working like crazy and it's hard to get off on saturday's without a ton of notice.

Andersen is a bit rich for a casual club event that we want to encourage EVERYONE to attend.

Since we've opted to do an August autocross, we could probably get away with just doing an "awards dinner" kind of thing.

So, yeah, um, ahem, um, it's not gonna be the 19th after the event. We've decided to go back to plan A. It'll be either Saturday or Sunday, the 25th or 26. Most likely a karting event at TampaBay Gran Prix. Will firm it up as soon as possible.

Every year it seems it is the last weekend in August, and I always end up missing it. I guess next year I have to change my schedule to stick around!

We're not collecting money. You pay at the kart counter, whatever it costs.

Can't believe those bastards still haven't changed the track. The first couple of times I went there they had a big sweeper in the back corner that was awesome. You would track out and brush against the wall every lap. I guess they had too many broken left side axles.
