Idea for championship bonus
In F1 when you win the WDC, your number is "1". That is a proud thing to display on a driver's car.
Here's my idea for maybe next year; if you win your class, you get a number - not whatever number you want. That would be pointless. Perhaps the fastest class, R1 I guess, would get number 1, the second fastest class would get number 2, and so on. That way your status would be more clear. Or maybe every champ gets a number that starts with number 1, which gets a bit cumbersome since the club has 11 classes, but still..
Alternatively, perhaps an End of Season Podium in which the top 3 point scorers get numbers 1 through 3. This would certainly illustrate dominance and probably attendance, but it might suck if the leading point scorers all came from the same class.
Anyway, it's just an idea. Discuss it, or move it to /dev/null. Either way.

Re: Idea for championship bonus
I thought about that myself previously. It would work better if we didn't have unique numbers for everyone. Get them to change that and then it would be cool, otherwise it's doesn't really work.
Maybe make a t-shirt for all the class winners that says #1 and hand them out at the end of the season. We could even do that same for numbers #2 and #3!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Idea for championship bonus
So you want a number shirt that signifies your position - like a football or baseball jersey - name across the shoulders and a number?
And reserve, say, 1 through 10 for the top 10 fastest overall?

Didn't we just give out shirts with finish positions on them?

Re: Idea for championship bonus
You could get magnets made like...
"I sucked the least at the previous FAST event"
I was going to do that with some people in a fastest on street tires competition. Have a magnet made and pass it off to the winner each month.

We need that on our first place shirts next season. "I sucked the least!"

Re: Idea for championship bonus
It's not really the same as a t-shirt because, you see, it's a magnetic number that goes on your car. The right to a specific number actually costs money. And the number one is a number that's in demand for obvious reasons, not the least of which is that it takes so little tape
along with 11 and 111.

The biggest knock on this idea is that there are so many first place finishers, yet there is only one number one.
How about this, the person who accumulates the most points in a season gets a huge, gold magnetic number one to slap on the hood of his car. This would clearly illustrate dominance and intimidation.
Did Loren push his idea through to get more/less points based on your relative performance in comparison to the class winner? If so, this would definitely be conducive to that idea.
BTW, I just checked 2012, and Brian Kollar acquired the most points over the season. That's kick-ass, Brian.

Re: Idea for championship bonus
The only change to points this season was the number of dropped events was changed to 3.
You're assuming that whoever wins actually WANTS to wear the number 1. Some people are fond of other numbers.

Or maybe we could just get a Flavor Fav clock for them to wear around grid? Or an old TransAm hood?Rosko wrote: How about this, the person who accumulates the most points in a season gets a huge, gold magnetic number one to slap on the hood of his car.
