Andersen Racepark Location

Postby Buildbright » Thu Sep 12, 2013 5:32 pm

Has anyone ever contacted or considered Andersen Race Park? They cater now to mainly Karts with some Formula and Indy Light testing but they did have a Lotus track day there. It is awesome location I am sure it comes down to price but I thought I would bring it up incase.

Back when they first built it and it was called "Primus Racing", owned by John Baytos, we ran 2 or 3 events there. It's not quite suitable for a standard autocross, I know we did at least one "entry level track event" there.

Haven't looked into it lately. Since they started doing rental kart races there, they seem to be pretty busy on the weekends. I suspect we'd have to pay them quite a lot of money to compete with what they make from doing kart races. And I'm not even sure they allow car events there. The reason we quit working with them back then was that the county shut them down for making too much noise. They were only licensed for race car testing and kart racing (like that's not loud?), and they balked at car racing.

If you want to look into it for us and let us know what a Saturday or Sunday all-day event would cost (and whether it includes insurance), we might consider doing something there. It's a very different site, though. Being an actual race track, there's a little more risk involved.

Push Harder - Drive as close to the limit of your tires as possible.
Suck Less - Drive something resembling a proper racing line.

They are still pretty strict about noise. They don't run common Yamaha 2 cycle karts

I looked into it a year or so ago. Ubber expensive on the weekends, cheap on the weekdays. And I've heard they yell at you if you just touch the grass. Basically, they offer it, but really don't want to deal with our kind of events.
