March 15, 2014 - FAST Championship Event at Brooksville

Postby Loren » Thu Feb 20, 2014 2:05 am

Alright, y'all, time to get registered for the March 15 FAST Championship Event!

We'll be doing the airstrip thing at Brooksville again, and driving a revision of Ron Rice's infamous "Peanut" course.

You don't want to miss that, so go get registered! The afternoon appears to be filling up quickly (didn't it used to be the morning that filled up first?).

I'm loving this pre-paid season pass. I don't have to do squat except show-up on time each month!

Yeah, really surprised more people didn't go for it. Oh, well. Maybe we'll get an earlier start on it next year.

I don't think people realized all the benefits:

1. Automatic registration so you can never get locked out due to brain fart.

2. Free Yearly number so you don't have to remember even/odd.

3. Two free events.

4. No $2.47 signup fee using a credit card?

5. Ability to change morning to afternoon anytime prior to cutoff if there are still openings.

**FAST is just so progressive it's hard to get one's head around it after attending "normal" events elsewhere.
Next you'll come up with a family pass :salute:

Loren, I won't be able to make the 15 March event. I already agree to spend the weekend in Ft Lauderdale with Sara. I'll have catch the next event. Joe

Where are you priorities, Joe?

If you're already registered for the 15th, registration is still open, you can go in and cancel your entry.

Loren, I cancelled my registration online, forgot I could do that. Doug "I Drive Too Slow" Adams needs a podium finish again sometime this year, so I'm trying to help him out a little bit.

If I showed up as often as N.S. Joe my tires would last alot longer - maybe a whole season or two.

There are only 6 people who know how to drive that course.

AND they are all arachnids.

Joe. Watch out for some 9" rims in the near future. Big wheels on a Miata are like donuts on a small cock. They corner crazy good but they don't ever bottom out. What's the fun in that?

Strangely light registration for this event so far, and reg closes Thursday morning. Maybe everybody's going to watch the 12 Hours of Sebring? Maybe a bunch of people are waiting until the last minute to register? :dunno:

We only have about 30 drivers per session, which means 15 drivers per run group. Good for getting more runs in, but bad for having all of our worker positions covered.

Con a friend into coming out with you! (and be sure they get registered) It will make for a smoother-running event.

Yeah, that's probably drawing a handful of folks away, as well. (we really don't have THAT much overlap with SCCA usually)
