8/27 - FAST Annual Picnic and Awards Party

Postby Native » Sun Jul 24, 2016 4:09 pm

So back by popular demand is our annual picnic/bbq, at Philippe park in Safety Harbor. We'll be at Shelter #5, which is just to the right as you enter the park. However, if you're arriving by car, you'll need to go to the first stop sign and turn right, then turn right again to park. The park itself is located at 2525 Philippe Parkway, just North of Safety Harbor.

We're going to kick things off around 11am and "officially" wrap up around 2pm. But, we have the shelter rented for the whole day, so you're welcome to stick around if you like!

We'd like to know how many to expect, and as in the past, it's a pot-luck kinda thing, so we'd also like to know what you may be bringing along (not a requirement, but if possible, please do). FAST will supply the main course, which'll be burgers, brats/dogs, fixings, drinks, and we'll also have all the plastic and paperware.

All the info is here:
https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/fa ... 5UfNPkrJD8
So, please check out the MR.com page, register (it's free) to let us know you're coming, and what you may be bringing if you will. And while you're at it, post up here too, so we all know what (and who) to expect!

The latest who's bringin' what: (updated 8/14/2016)
FAST - Drinks, Burgers, Dogs, Brats, maybe Chicken + buns and fixin's
Doug Adams - Something frozen and maybe deviled eggs
David Bess - Salad/Fruit
Steve Brand - Fruit
Anthony Davis - Pasta
Les Davis - Deviled Eggs
Daniel Dejon - Meatballs
Dan Estep - Fruit, maybe an appetizer
Ron Rice - Beans
Phillip Russell - Brownies
Jamie & Sophie Sculerati - Fresh Salsa
Jason & Heather Taunton - Beans or sumthin
Sara Tinsley & Joe Vance - Baked Potatoes
Ben Wheaton - Pie or something
Dave Williams - Black bean and corn salad
Loren Williams - Cookies

I'll be there, nice and close. As a single, somewhat busy guy (also lacking in culinary skills), I can't promise I could bring anything good food wise. I donated a little towards the party and I'm looking forward to it!

PARTY! PARTY! PARTY!
:thewave: :thewave:

Looks like a few folks have signed up on MR.com, but where's the rest of you? If you've been to our annual FAST picnic and awards ceremony, you know it's a laid-back chance to lay back, hang out a bit, eat a slew-pile of good food, and honor all those folks who beat the pants off the rest of us this past year! If you haven't been, well, re-read the previous sentence, then make a plan to come on out - bring the whole family! :thumbwink:

We will probably bring a Publix Caesar salad, unless I get energetic and decide to make something...

Guess I'll just shit a brick and let Dan and Eva eat it. With cheese. Didn't we give stickers for the best food last year? I know who won first with that Chicken. John!!!

Folks just so you aren't intimidated by having to "cook" Steve and Loren kindly put an "option" of a modest cash donation on the sign up for yall when you actually register.

Guess I won't be bringing the chocolate Bunt cake now

I will be out of town; last-minute trip. Doug will still attend. I have changed his registration to making a contribution instead of bringing food.

How can we have a party without Eva? :whine:

I'm gonna go through the registrations and make a list of who's bringing what soon. (or so I keep saying) The shirts arrived yesterday, they look pretty cool!

Just updated the list in the first post. Things are shaping up nicely as far as "the spread", and we're up to 28 attendees.

We're supposed to have electricity at the shelter. If anyone wants to bring a large fan, it might improve the ambiance a bit.

I have a medium sized fan, I'll see if it fits in my car, it likely won't.

Uh, I'm registered, but turns out I'm not going to be able to make it. I know I had promised to serve as grillmaster, but somebody else will need to step in to that role. All apologies.
