Possibly the most fun I've ever had driving, and riding passenger today.
Thanks to all for such an great day. The daily driver was only good enough for 14th overall, but I can't complain against all of the re71r/rival/rs3 etc cars. (Hey, it's my first time being able to use that excuse so I'm gonna make the most of it) The Hankook v12's far exceeded my expectations though, would highly recommend them to anyone who needs an all season (rain) tire to have some almost competitive fun on the weekends.
Thanks Mike for the rides in the cobra, that thing is a beast. Thanks to Taylor and Caleb for letting me take instructor runs in the mazdaspeed3 and s2000, really enjoyed that too.
Had fun showing everyone the new daily mx5 as well, no... the s2000 isn't going anywhere!

Oh ps sorry for my coolant spill on the grid.. definitely hoping it was just over filled. Never overheated and now my coolant is at its correct level. Fingers crossed or else my "steal" will end up only being a "pretty good deal" lol

I thought I was going to hate the course but it wasn't too bad. especially with a slipping clutch and 14 runs between Elliot and I. shame I couldn't stay off of the cones, would of been .5 sec infront of Lineberry.
happy to see the progress. the speed is there, just need more seat time

Interesting course today. Never got it right but it was sure fun trying. Thanks for the pointers, Dave
. Now I know what to try to do, just have to find a way to do it.
Fastest run was #3 at 44.741.

I think that was a perfect Spring autocross!
The FASTiva gave us a few issues, and that kept me from taking a couple runs in other people's cars that I'd intended to. (also, to be honest, I laid down some decent times on early runs, and was chasing a personal goal of 44.9xx that I never did acheive) I never got any runs on the practice course, hope y'all enjoyed it.
Thanks for coming out to play with FAST!

Push Harder - Drive as close to the limit of your tires as possible.
Suck Less - Drive something resembling a proper racing line.

I had a great time. Was in my car for 14 runs (7 by me 7 by Steve).
Steve thanks for the good advice and encouragement. Also thanks for demonstrating my car's potential with your driving.
Can't wait to show my wife and kids my second place sticker lol [emoji41]

You betcha, Bill. And thanks for the codrive - looking forward to next time.
Once you got the cones out of your system ( 4 in your first 3 runs ) your times got quicker each run. And don't discount the last one - even with the cone, it was still your best raw time. Nice improvement over the day!
And, to drill in all that "be early, attack the back stuff," if you didn't watch Joe's video in the first post, check it out. Watch when/where he makes the steering inputs in relation to where the actual apex cones are. Excellent example of what I was talking about, and tried, to show. (Nice run, Joe, by the way! Thanks for posting the video).
Bill - sent a pm to you.
And I'll agree with Loren - we had another great day, and lots of help from lots of people. Thank you all very much!

Oh, I suspect the gratitude you expressed already will suffice, but I have no proxy, so, lunch may be in order. I'm sure someone will step forward if inclined...jev61 wrote:What can I do to say thanks?Native wrote:I know who it was...jev61 wrote:I owe someone lunch or something. Loved the course...wishing for another 3 slalom cones to round out an even dozen. Quite a good exercise.
Was hoping to get a bit closer to Drew/Joe/Chris, but I've been remiss on maintaining the Subaru apparently. Big kuddos to Matt S. for hauling me to Autozone to pick up a replacement radiator hose. Trip home was uneventful although bit unfulfilled. At least I didn't go into the dirt this time...
Great to see some old faces and many new ones-serious gang today. The ride in the P-car was a treat...no wonder they are so highly sought after!
Thanks.

Thanks Ron, for picking up my slack while I was snoozing... Getting more than a couple hours of sleep paid off, I haven't had a top five finish in a long time, but I couldn't get down into the 42s where the real fast guys were.

I need to collect my Insight stats!
Thanks for the great FAST second (winter) season for a departing Snowbird. Back to the great white north (WI) on Sunday. FAST has been particularly fun since I've had some nice folks to compete with (in class). But then, everyone has been nice...and thanks for that as well. Plan to see you all in December.
Here's my best run...nothing really stands out, but the sharp wall just before the finish was generally HECK!
