Thank you, everyone, for making this nearly-sold-out event run very, very, smoothly. On schedule all day (even a little ahead, here and there), quick group changes, quick clean-up... terrific! :thumbwink:

I was pretty happy with my driving today. The new all-seasons on the 'wagen will do, and their progressive nature made it fairly easy, and kinda fun, to throw the car around.
I managed a 50.4. However, Bill was a beast today (in the afternoon, at least) and beat me with a 50.2. Way to go, Bill! (let's see you do it again... )

And Daniel, the sway bar, tires, and alignment have transformed (that's the word I was looking for after the run I took with you) your car! It's now a force to be contended with, especially if you keep driving it the way you did today! You were on fire! Well done!

NOTICE to those who will know who they are when they read or hear about this:

http://drivefast.org/rules/safety-rules/

"Closed-toe shoes are required for all participants at all times."

ALL participants at ALL times. Please don't show up in flip flops, switch to shoes while driving, then switch back to flops. Too many ways to crunch a toe, or entire foot.
Just leave the flops and sandals etc at home. And "participants" means guests, too, so please inform your guest to wear full shoes, too.

Thanks.

Spectacular driving is more like it... .579 off of Elliott! I knew I wasn't pushing hard enough around the course, but damn Joe, you made it look I hit an optional stop box at the turnaround!

LOOK HERE =
http://www.drivefast.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2400

It says this:

Good news, y'all!
We're raising the db limit, effective immediately. "Soft" limit will be 96, and "hard" limit will be 99.

And bad news, for some, as here's the list of car numbers and db levels from the May 6 Open at Brooksville:
EARLY
7/107 - 98.7
711 - 97.9
178 - 98.9
310 - 106

LATE
96 - 102.5
86 - 105.3
421 - 98.5
231 - 100.6
112 - 96
21 - 97
57/157 - 98.8

Now, we do realize that "loud" is dependent on many variables, and courses, which is why we try to be as permissive as we can in enforcing our rule. Still, if you see your number listed, well, we're asking you to do something to reduce your car's sound level before you come to your next event. We'll be checking, and while we don't want to poop on the party, we do reserve the right to shut you down if your car is just too darned loud.

Thanks for your support and understanding.

Wow, what a fast course! Actually having a chance of winning in M1 made the runs a lot more exciting and intense. My heart was pounding after the last couple of runs just because the competition was so close. Thanks Steve for giving the car a quick run for some input. The car does feel totally different and with the new tires, alignment, rear sway bar, and other quirks done recently. I now have a lot more confidence on gunning it earlier in the corners without the fear of the rear getting some snap oversteer. I think this is the first time making it in top 10, 6th overall (would've been 4th but very small mistake last corner to the finish) which was still 3rd in M1  .

Last event I got the Azenis 615k+ which was very fresh and I did not do very good at all. I dunno if it was from getting them scrubbed in the previous event or what, but they felt a nice chunk different and grippier with a lot more feedback than last time.

Here's my 42.197 with 1 cone at the very end. My lines definitely could've been a lot better and 41's was easily reachable if I did those right.

Thanks again FAST organizers for another fun event. Well done!

Special thanks to whoever arranged the weather :) because it was pretty awesome.

My performance today showed improvement but much was due to Steve's advice and modeling "how-to-drive". Thank you Steve [emoji106]

Whew! What a great day! A bit breezy, but otherwise perfect.

Trying to decide if I want to pile onto Steve's "negative vibes". I do. But, I think I'll wait a bit.

Thanks! I think the FASTiva may be available at the end of the season for a very reasonable sum. Just sayin'.

Great job guys. Especially Daniel for scaring me. Joe went and killed it in the afternoon, that is a crazy time, congrats.

Fun course, too bad my 41.8 wasn't clean but I definitely don't mind escaping with the 42.0 after trailing in my class all day previously.

I know for sure my turn around sucked, that usually isn't an issue for me but I had a really hard time finding it. Really have to do a better job at looking ahead!

Videos. First run 2, my best clean run, 41.695.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BhHdKtmWw8

Next, my fastest run but 1 cone. 41.462 I am posting this one because I feel I got the outbound leg nearly perfect. Minimal coasting, good line and on the gas really early. However I really botched the finish with a poor entry and a cone. I think a perfect run would have yielded a 41.2 or better.

Joe B showed you what fast looked like, now I'll show what slow looked like. Notice how many times I coast instead of staying on the throttle.https://www.facebook.com/joseph.vance.7 ... 578322384/

Drove two hours round trip from Clearwater to drive 4 x 53 seconds and worth every minute. My wife and my neighbor joined me for our first time at your very well run event. Everyone was so helpful and terrific. Thank you for a great day.

Glad you enjoyed, Wally! Probably a little different from a 2-300 car California autocross, eh?

Hmm, Thanks for the heads up. Gives me time to work on the wife.
Umm.. What would it take to make it a daily driver, and does it have a title. I think it would make a bitchin' daily. And didn't you say a pretty decent sized 6 cyl. would fit in it? Maybe a turbo duretec?

Fun day. My '75 yr old Mother had a blast. She doesn't like my driving on the street, but she loves it at the autoX.

Mike, the Fastiva is street legal, licensed and insured. Titled in Ben's name.

They're are some "easy" engine swaps. Some others have been done. You could stuff a small V6 into it if you really wanted to. (MX3 V6 as a donor)

PM or email me or Ben if you're serious.
