Shout out to the organizers on this one. Especially the site overlooking the bay and the awesome breezes in the shady clean picnic building. Chef Dan "Bang" with his wife's able assistance with all those toppings. I ate some of everything I could. I attempted to put a wear rating on the meats that were all moist, properly flavored and fell within an 80-90 wear rating as they are still with me in spirit. Two plates worth. The beans/salads/desserts. Joe's corn on the cob and even got one of Les' deviled eggs. So I couldn't mow the grass when I got home as it was too hot and then it started raining at 5pm so I don't have to do it today:) Had a great turnout for a Saturday and I know some people have to work that day a lot. Sometimes I have to ask what is that thing called work? I forget sometimes. Mowing grass involves a couple ice cold beers and a quart of water followed with a shower or swim. A few folks showed off their newest rides but I brought Moby Vic to keep the rain away. It worked!!

Funny co-incidence of the day Loren and I had identical Hawaiian Shirts in honour of his 50th:) Then they handed out a whole bunch of identical Winners shirts so we could all dress alike. Winners!!

This is my wife's favorite FAST event of the year.

Thanks Loren and Steve for all your efforts in 16-17 season. And you too Ron for telling me how slow I am and accepting my bribes. And Drew for getting up so early to put out cones. And Matt for standing in the pouring rain with a helmet on making my day brighter:)

Perfect wrap-up to a great season!

Big thanks to Dan Estep for the cookin'! And thanks to all the folks who brought in delicious go-withs!

In addition to all of the class award winners, we recognized the following folks:
  • Member of the Year - Dan Brentnall
  • Driver of the Year - Joe Brannon
  • Most Improved Driver - Dan Estep
  • Rookie of the Year - Jason Souza
  • 100% Awards (all points events) - Phillip Russell, Mike Dassatti, Mark Russell, Tyler Williams, Doug Adams, Doug Buckheim, Eva Chang, Philip Petrie
  • 200% Awards (all events, every last one!) - Ron Rice, Loren Williams
And since Doug is bringing up "the crew", The official FAST Crew for this season was:
Me & Steve Frank
Drew Scoda - Safety
Ron Rice - Timing
Matt Sullivan - Registration
Ben Wheaton - Setup
Philip Petrie - Setup
Tyler Sommer - Setup (filled in for Ben while he was on walkabout)

Couldn't do this without them. Couldn't do it without the rest of you, either. Thanks!

I was thinking I hadn't missed any events this season, so I finally went back and checked and I was correct. I only missed the duel this month. There is one event that I am showing no points in my class because I ran in R1 that event.

I would like a 100% sticker for my shirt. Of course it will come off in the wash, so I need, like a box full. :chuckle:

You're probably right, Drew. I knew you missed an event and didn't qualify for the 200% award. At that point, you were dead to me. Slacker.

I think there's a Sharpy in the trailer somewhere.
