What a swell event it was! I had a lot of fun thrashing Loren's Mirage, which I must say is A LOT like the Fastiva, only more newer and dare I say, refined [ducks and runs]. He and Soroya beat the pants off me, to my hard-fought 3rd of 3 finish! I'll demand a rematch at some point...just needed one more run... :chuckle:

I sure hope everyone else had as good a time. Things ran very smoothly - a bit ahead of schedule all day, and even the weather was good to us. Gotta call out Randy Barrera for his scorching FTD - well done, man! And also to Richard and Philip from Jax - you guys are excellent students, and as you keep at, you'll be hard to beat.

Thanks to Doug for the use of his generator. Ours has been getting a little finicky lately, and today chose to run for only about 20-30 seconds at a time. Drew's gonna have a look at it.

And guess what?

Results are up.

AAaanndd - someone left a GoPro box with a mount of some sort and a USB cord. It's in the trailer.

Steve, I was going to hang around for trophies and get the 1st place sticker for my 39 year old Yamaha I bought new in 1979 which beat the pants off of the year old newbie "sparky". I don't buy a lot of new things (other than toilet paper and snot rags) but this Yamaha is almost as good as Eliot's 66 Datsun. I actually had to use a calculator to realize just how old that thing is...whoa. It's saved my butt more times than anything up North and once down South last year. And now it saved yours. Awesome.

I and Maria really enjoyed the delicious picnic and road racing that went on today. I have a few distant videos of the event but they are far out and way too MB to try and load up on Utube? But I'll try anyhow. Maybe the last lap only? A lot of surprises. Les broke his Power Steering and now has Popeye arms and maybe even a towing bill? What he didn't bring his trailer to an Enduro? Bet that won't happen again.

Personal favs are that big Ron guy in a little car and that Matt guy who we sponsored today as "guest" kick assers :D

The 3 folks who didn't show up are the only losers today. We showed up and kicked their butts with a generator. I will be patiently awaiting the PAX of the 79 Yamaha Generator :rolling:

Randy has spent way too much time on motorcycles and go carts. It shows lately. Lean into the corners and steer with one Popeye arm while grinning.

I really hope Randy got video of his run, his raw time is just incredible. I don't want to look at PAX.

Big thanks to Dan and Ken for letting me take my runs in their cars. And a big than to Matt and Jamie for getting me to and from the event. I have met more incredibly nice people at autocross than I could have ever believed.

I'm working on the pictures.

What a great day! Endurocross is pure bliss when everything goes as planned. 8-)

I kinda wish I'd taken the time to take some video of my second run. Oh, well. The car felt really good. Steve was able to drive it without difficulty or complaint, so that's a sign of a reasonable setup.

The "Randy reality". I've loaned him my RX8 on different occasions to drive the shit out of it. He learned to drive his toy S2K of equal specs. I even loaned him my extra nut once so he could run "twice" at a PCA event. I have refused a few co-drives over the last year simply because his car sucked.

Old fart vs Randolph. Next classic event? I think your car is finally up to my level? Place your bets ladies and gentlemen. $10 under the wiper.

I feel cheated. In all the times I've kicked Doug's ass, he's never given me $10. But, I've probably burned way more than $10 worth of his rubber. So, I guess we're even. :snicker:

Great event, Randy broke my heart...

Here is my faster of the two runs, oh and mute it as I'm shaking my head during the fourth lap in the far turn around, the out burst stops as I approach the slalom.

I finally setup up the car for me. And driving on blown shocks on a twitchy car has helped me learn. Philip still needs to drive my car too...

I haven't been on a motorcycle in like 4 years, but the few track days I've done helped a lot. And I only had one real go kart race (but I'll be doing 3 hr race with elliot soon).

Car felt great, a few errors, but I had laser focus thanks to good sleep. Thanks everyone :)

Matt, you been takin' voice lessons from Ron?

Thanks for sharing your vid, Randy! The scary thing is that you could have obviously been even FASTER! I think you just attacked the course harder than most of us did.

Note to self, don't let Randy get a good night's sleep.

After watching the video I feel I just didn't try.

I was watching the video, at Michelle's parents', before I uploaded it. I saw my headshake and couldn't find the mute key quick enough, I scared her Dad. 🤬🤭

Randy simply beat the shit our of a properly set up RX8 no biggie. Most of FAST have done that. If a competent driver cannot kick my ass by 3-4 seconds with my current "mellow" attatude they totally suck. Loren has never put a $10 bill under my wiper. He left a lot of money on the table. Steve has repeatedly. Bastard. I like Steve/Loren/Randy/Elliot/Phillip(who redeemed himself by not hitting a curb at the dog track). That would be cool to race them all at the same time before I croak. I will bring my wife to watch :thumbwink: Probably the only person left to see me at my pea(k) in 2000.

Philip is a true gentleman. I will take his $10? Assuming his car doesn't catch fire? Who doesn't love Phillip? Nobody.

Philip (post hospital trip but cone it away), mark ( the car was under steering too much then), and elliot have driven my car. I'd like to see Loren drive my car, mainly because I can't imagine it. And of course I owe you, but would I want everyone driving my car in one event?

I couldnt. But that triangle engine can spin all day beyond my measly 8k RPM and not get hurt. But one at a time? Yeah sure. Feel free to cash in your free drive ticket.

I would like to drive a MR car one day, maybe a powerful car, and an AWD (rally or not).... but I think the rx8 understeers too much (::)
