You suckers that signed up for the morning session had to deal with blazing hot sun, warm tires, and dry ground that just makes your car go where you point it. Hot, sweaty and BORING!
The afternoon rocked, with a nice cloud cover over the sun and free cool water falling from the sky. Tires were nice and cold which allowed them to slide around eagerly, just searching for a cone to smash. What fun! :thewave:

Had a good time today talking to everyone. Drove like crap today and was frustrated with how my gti drove, course was fun, but driving the gti wasn't. Can't seem to launch it smoothly and struggled with overdriving it. It serves as a good back up fill in car, but I dont want to put the $$ in it to make it where I would be happy with it on course.

Thanks again to Nate for riding with me tell me I was overdriving, calming down on the overdriving helped me get to 39.1 during the uncounted run 6.

I was also frustrated with my driving today. Finally managed a solid time on run 5 but coned it away. Never really did figure out where i was losing time, think it was in a lot of places. Need to get my tires flipped. Awesome time though, rode with lots of cool people in lots of cool cars and.... Didn't get rained on (sorry afternoon folks). I was riding with Dan when he took out the cone wall. It must have been my ballast :smack:

So, the Results are up on the website.

Today was like two totally different days for me. Both of them pretty long.

The first one was totally maxed out with drivers, but with lots of experienced people to fill all the worker positions. Generally pretty easy once we got things rolling. Lots of help from lots of people to fill the gap, but I still missed having Steve there! Not a drop of rain until maybe the last few runs of the Early Session. Then, it was LITERALLY a few drops of rain until after that last run was done. Then the rain started.

It rained all through Late Session sign-in. And the course walk. And the driver's meeting. And constantly throughout the first run group. And it was still raining through the second run group, though a little less. I think there was actually a "dryish" line appearing on the course during my last run. Of course, I was driving a different line, and it didn't help me a bit!

The rain finally quit as we were starting to pack up. Lots of folks pitched in to get that done (THANK YOU!), and we got awards handed out and were gone by about 6:00. So, all that rain... we still got in 6 runs and were only about 30 minutes behind schedule.

Did I mention that I'm really tired of rain? :finger:

This was my seventh time out at an autocross and I wish I started much earlier.. my first event was at Dunnellon airport in January. I was a guest in the morning session and took any opportunity I had for a ride along with some of the more experienced drivers, and I learned quite a bit! It rained on me at the last event and I was hoping I'd get a chance to drive this course when it was dry, but I had a great time even with the limited traction. I spun out crossing the finish on my third run, which I felt was a pretty solid run up until then. I'm glad I didn't hit the timing lights! Thank you to every one who let me ride along and gave me instruction!

Here's all I could muster. I actually had a better run going on my 5th run until I found myself sliding through the muck just outside of the "dry" groove that other drivers had created. And I didn't take my 6th run because the fuel light came on... it actually came on before my 5th.

The morning session was an epic battle in M3, everyone one of the front runners except Curtis showed up. If I have done my math correctly, only one point separates Tyler from myself going into the final Open event to determine First Place for the year. I think only two point separates the next two competitors for Third Place; can Elexis earn a t-shirt her first year autoxing? I can not leave out Aaron; it was a lot of fun seeing him competing on new tires, he will be at the front of the pack now too. Will any of us ever again see 1st place again with Preston joining the class?

FYI I think the spreadsheet took the 6th lap into account. Sorry if I call your name out and your position gets a little swap :dunno:. So if you look at S0, Joe B had a tie of 42.979 on his 5th run for his quickest time. Barbara Meucci 42.884 doesn't show a highlighted time for the top 5. I believe it's counting the 6th run since his quickest time isn't shown from his first 5 runs. There are a couple people that shows their quickest time from their 6th run.

I don't see a problem with Joe. Barb's is an error, though. The system is supposed to ignore runs beyond the number of runs that the event is set for. But, nobody ever said AxWare wasn't buggy.

Ron will have to look into this. Might end up just deleting everyone's 6th run to be sure it's out of play.

I guess we didn't mention this here yet. For anyone who wasn't there... things went so well in the morning that we wanted to add a 6th run, but with pending rain, we didn't want to commit to it for the afternoon. So, we did 5 "official" runs, and one "bonus" run. The 6th run was not supposed to count. In the afternoon, in spite of the rain, the crazy majority wanted to do 6 runs. So, we did the same thing. 5+1.

I was just comparing joes with barbs since joes showed correctly and barbs showed different. Also Joe would now need to place higher than him if barbs 6th run doesn't count as a official one.

Yes, this is why Ron needs to look at it and get it corrected.

If only the last run was on the official time sheets :rolling:

This was a great event and thanks to all at FAST for allowing us crazies to vote for 6 runs. And shame on you who ran in the afternoon second run group; it was practically dry!

Well, I ran the second run group of the morning session so was lucky to just miss the rain. I enjoyed the course but my driving was very inconsistent - run 3 was my fastest and was going great but I carried too much speed and got way behind on the last offset slalom before the finish so definitely gave away some time there. With that, I know I could get into the 38s, but somehow was never able to match, let alone improve my time in the last two runs. (Or even the bonus run).
Still, had a great day as always.

Here's my fastest 39.198
