Trailer for the Brooksville autoX tomorrow.

Postby snookwheel » Fri Jun 20, 2008 5:45 pm

Thanks Brian for leading me to the trailer... never would have found it myself. VERY cool work shop Howard!

Anyway...I am not a trailering guru. I want to get those of you who are, to give me your opinion.

The hitch on my truck sits fairly high. The ground clearance at the front is 17". At the rear, it is 10". The truck is an old moving van, but the suspension is in good shape and really does not bounce. I cannot imagine the rear hitting. If it does, I probably have a MUCH larger problem.

I don't think it will be an issue at all. BUT, since it is the FAST trailer, I figured getting a second opinion might be the thing to do.

Here's a pic:

Thanks Scott

Looks okay to me, just watch out for big dips.

Push Harder - Drive as close to the limit of your tires as possible.
Suck Less - Drive something resembling a proper racing line.

I can't imagine it either..... is it ideally and perfectly close to level as it should be? No

Will it work...... yah............

FWIW most car trailers with a dovetail only have about 8" of clearance in the rear.

BTW: Don't run over anything on the way there :) You have no spare........ I'm bringing new wheels/tires for it tomorrow though.

you forgot the new bins that were just behind the trailer. I'll put them in for the next time.
