Dunnellon Autocross - Dec 1

Postby Loren » Fri Nov 16, 2018 9:57 pm

Once more at the Marion County Airport in Dunnellon!

Registration is open, and limited to 60. As of 11/16, 20 are already registered. You should join them!

Dunnellon isn't as far aways as you might think. Only about an hour North of Brooksville. Short trip for people who live up that way, and a quick run up I-75 (or US-41... or US-19) for Tampa area folks. We start our Dunnellon events a bit later, so you'll have plenty of time to get there.

This event will be open to all drivers, just like a FAST Open event, but it won't be a part of our Championship series. It will be run more like a Classic event, casual and fun, but without the experience requirement of a Classic. It's "just an Autocross", come on out and have some fun!

If you know any autocrossers (or people who might become autocrossers) who live in the Ocala/Gainesville area, be sure they know about this event!

We'll be providing lunch for all registered drivers and guests at this event, too!

NEW PROCEDURES: We are now required to have an escort to cross the active runway. You WILL NOT be able to come and go as you please, even at the end of the event. We must wait for the truck with the flashing lights and radio to escort us safely across that runway!

Registration is open until November 26. Get registered!

All drivers AND guests must pre-register, this is a closed site.

Dunnellon Autocross - Dec 1

I feel all alone in this thread.

We've got 45 entries for this event. Not bad at all! But, there's room for a few more.

Late Registration is now available until 8pm Wednesday. Being overwhelmed with Holiday Cheer (because we had to listen to WAY too much Christmas music over the weekend), we've waived the late fee for this one. So, go register. And if you're already registered, bring a friend! And if you're registered as a Guest... geez, change to your status to Driver, live a little!

And my co-driver isn't going to make this one... if anyone is interested in experiencing the Mirage. Just think, you could BE the line of shame!

Dunnellon Autocross - Dec 1

I'm really looking forward to this one. Testing out my fatter front tires, and figuring out what I need to tweak to go with it (tire pressures and shock settings).

Unfortunately, I'll also spend the day chasing Philip, since he's co-driving with me.

Think dry thoughts! :sunny:

Yes. Most people just buy or beg a co-drive and continue to procrastinate about needed repairs.

Dunnellon Autocross - Dec 1

I was flushing ganky black clutch fluid and bleeding lines until the sun started going down.
Was really kind of a maybe for tomorrow, but It helped. It has gone from "won't-go-into-reverse" to "slightly-annoying-but-tolerable"
Also found my vac line going to the MS (the main source of information for the ecu to do it's voodoo) was squished between a bracket and a hard line along the firewall. Was working, so I guess it wasn't pinched completely off. Not sure how long it's been like that. :dunno:
