FAST Open Autocross - SUNDAY, Dec 16 - Brooksville

Postby Loren » Fri Nov 16, 2018 10:02 pm

This one's on a SUNDAY, y'all!

The competition in the 2019 FAST Championship Series is heating up. We're still early in the season, it's time to build that early points lead... or keep someone else from doing so!

Registration is open, and filling up quickly! Deadline for entry is Dec 10, but in spite of our new 60-driver per session entry limits, this event is likely to sell out well before then.

Registration & Event Info

Basic event details:
  • This is a FAST Open autocross, that means that it is open to all licensed drivers.
  • Novices and first-timers are encouraged to enter!
  • Pre-registration is REQUIRED for all Drivers AND Guests. We can't let you in the gate if you're not registered.
  • Driver entry fee is $39.99, guest entry fee is $7.99.
  • This will be a split-format event. You can enter the Early session 7:30am-12pm or the Late Session 12:30pm-5pm, or both.
  • Snacks and cold beverages will be provided for all registered drivers and guests.

Current entry stands at 41 Early and 41 Late out of 60 per session. Lots of new people, and more than a few people we don't see often. And 13 double-entries!

This event will sell out early. Bet on it. But, go register first.

Hmmmmmmm break in of the drivetrain should be done probably a good week before this event is held. This might be it.

The points from 10/20 have errors! Eagle-eyed old-guy Doug spotted it right away.

We're looking into it. Something went wrong with the data export from AxWare. 19 drivers final two runs were dropped for some reason. Weird.

The points problem has been identified, and the fix is in place, but we probably won't get around to updating things until after this event.

This event. Wow! This event sold out in 7 days from when registration was opened. And of 120 entries, only 11 of them are first-timers. That means we've got quite the following theses days. :notworthy:

Before anyone asks, we should have the course map ready for this one by about Monday. It's gonna be a long one. We took an already long course and made it longer!

I'm still be lazy about getting tires, and/or a car so I'm looking for a co-drive again. A competitive M2 car would be nice now that I see I still have a small hope in this class. Really I'll take any on tires. Will pay, offer GPS tracking but this doesn't seem to work as well with 2 drives, not enough time to review data.

Whoa now... The Miata Hunter already has a couple kills, and you just bumped to the top of the list for your blatant disrespect! I'm going to enjoy mounting your hardtop on my trophy wall. "Catch" you in January or maybe sooner Mr. Williams.

Cool. When one is +65 no required licenses for hunting anything or fishing anything fresh or salt water.

Maybe I should run in M2 also with an unmodified car? Like Philip. Been there done that. Got a 3rd place sticker once. :thought:

Somebody say "course map"? This one takes major cues from one we did back in March. Added some length to it. It could actually be close to 60 seconds. 55, at least.
