Dunnellon Autocross - Feb 23

Postby Loren » Sat Jan 26, 2019 8:30 pm

Back at the airport in Dunnellon this time! Go get registered!

This event will be open to all drivers, just like a FAST Open event, but it won't be a part of our Championship series. It will be run more like a Classic event, casual and fun, but without the experience requirement of a Classic. It's "just an Autocross", come on out and have some fun!

If you know any autocrossers (or people who might become autocrossers) who live in the Ocala/Gainesville area, be sure they know about this event!

We'll be providing lunch for all registered drivers and guests at this event, too!

ENTRY PROCEDURES: We are required to have an escort to cross the active runway. You WILL NOT be able to come and go as you please, even at the end of the event. We must wait for the truck with the flashing lights and radio to escort us safely across that runway!

Registration is open until Feb 18.

All drivers AND guests must pre-register, this is a closed site.

Y'all slackers need to be getting registered! It would give me more motivation to design a course.

Okay, here's the course map for this event. And before you ask, yes, it's designed to be a one-car course.

Registration closes in a week!

no problem waiting for an escort off the field as long as there is a port-o-pottie for this old man.

when you got to go, you got to go :wise: :smack:

32 entries so far. On one hand... it means lots of runs. But, on the other hand... it's a whole lot easier to fill all of the required work positions with more. 39-45 is the sweet spot for a Classic event.

Registration closes Monday. Go get registered, already!

My co-driver won't be at this one, so I have a seat available. Or... I'm available if you'd like a co-driver.

Last call, get registered!

And I'm still open for a co-drive. Challenge me, teach me, or learn from me... I don't care which!

hmm, I was thinking about offering a co-drive, Im just curious to see if someone else other than me can get closer to the other m3 miatas in the current setup before b/c I haven't been able to this season :rolling:

Possible to split runs in both cars? Or are we treating Dunnellon more like an open event with regards to points and competition?

I'm running in the PAX class... with a Mirage. PAX is not friendly to the Mirage. I ain't gonna win anything.

So, whatever. We can swap rides if you want. I've driven your car before, liked it!

That works for me, basically the same setup as last time with slightly more power and rear bar.

It was more of an overall raw time comparison Im looking forward to seeing with seeing how someone else other than me can get closer times to aaron, andrew and joe in the car.

Phew you almost forgot about me, I got you though. :rolling:

For real though, anyone that drives Andrew’s Integra is in for a treat. The couple times I’ve driven it was fun because of how much quicker it feels than the Miata, but also frustrating cuz I can’t figure out how to drive the damn thing.

I'll be bringing the silly 'stang, which is a less than ideal autocrosser. While I'm not opposed to running it for giggles, I am also not opposed to taking a run or two in something else if any one feels sorry for me. :(
