Our penultimate runway event went really well. I had a great time and I hope everyone else did too. There were laughs, some good competition, a tasty lunch, and a few "oh sh*t" moments that led to no drama. Good stuff! :thumbwink:

Daniel D - thanks for the test runs this morning. You've done great things to your car, and then used it for FTD. Congrats!

Taylor - thanks for lending me your car, and then fixing it when I complained. I do love driving a Miata, and yours is solid. You got me by a hair... (and I did break into PAX top 10 - go me!).

And as always, thank you to all who pitched in and helped out.

And speaking of instructor runs:
Come on, guys. An instructor run is just that - it's a run during which an instructor may drive a student's car with the student present, for the purpose of instructing. The "instructor runs" that were happening today, a lot, weren't that. Shoot - one "instructor run" had only the driver in the car.

Classics are all about driving other's cars, and trading off runs, but each run counts - you put your number on whatever car you are driving. If we're doing 7 runs that day, you get your 7 runs. Not 7 plus however many instructor runs you can get otherwise. And if you've done your 7 runs, you are done. Like all the other drivers. It's just not fair, and can you imagine how the event would run if each driver took time to do an extra run?

Now, I know I had opportunity to say something like the above at the event today, and I didn't. But I am now. Swap cars all you want, but within the day's run allotment. And if the run groups work out such that you can't get into the car you wanted to try, there's always next time.
Thank you for your support. :salute:

Positions 1 through 5 separated by .4 seconds. I takes .4 seconds to blink your eyes.
Positions 6 through 10 separated by just .5 seconds.
Crazy.

Great time today!!!

Love working GRID and trying to keep the goons in shape. 8-)

Big thanks to Joe and Drew: one showed me what I should do and the other what I could do.

Man, I just couldn't put it together today! :smack:

I took one run in my car just to give my co-driver some tips. The rest I took in Ben's Miata, and I coned every single run! But, it was fun running with Ben again. (he and I co-drove a season a few years back in that same car) Lots of good nostalgia.

As Steve said, thanks for coming out, helping out, and having fun with FAST. And quit abusing "Instructor Runs"! Take your runs in whatever car you want, it's a Classic event. But, just because it's not your car doesn't make it an "instructor run". Save that for legit novice instruction at an Open event.

Results are up, of course.

Any thoughts on the YouTube live stream of the timing display?

Man, I just couldn't put it together today! :smack:
Same. Was a frustrating though fun day. The sweeper after the wiggle caught me off EVERY run. I new what to do, but wasn't looking ahead and couldn't get my right foot to cooperate and blew that element over and over again. Felt great everywhere else, can't help but wonder what could have been.

Dan, SO SORRY about your clutch. Feel terrible. It was just so different than mine I had no idea where the release point was. :smack: At least I didn't pull a Ben... many thanks for the drive. I'll get you back as soon as possible.

I was working course for those aforementioned oh sh!t moments and very glad that they went about as good as that type of thing could go. Was eye opening to say the least.

Great event today, thanks to all. Steve, I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for making me tackle the oversteer because of your "complaining" [emoji38] I ended up being faster once I put the rear sway back on anyhow haha

Sorry about the instructor run thing, I know I did it at least once today so will keep that in mind going forward

Well, I was surprised I got FTD. When I saw the time of my FTD run, I thought it had to be dirty. Sorry for calling you a damn liar Caleb when you said my run was clean :-D .

Hope everyone who road along in the clown car had fun. Hopefully I'll have some video uploaded later Monday of the FTD run and the run where we had 5 people in the car.

Little out of control and some cursing due to missing 2nd gear for the 2nd time.
Under-steer / over-steer - this car does it all!

Man I haven’t struggled with an autocross course in awhile. Mostly just over driving the car, which is rare for me because I’m usually a pretty smooth/boring driver. I think I was dead last in my class until my last run I was finally able so put a somewhat acceptable lap together of 38.726. Frustrating cuz I know the car had probably another second in it.

Congrats to Daniel and FTD! I think me and the 4 other passengers in the Evo deserve some credit for that, obviously it was our expert advice during that run that helped out :snicker: Thanks to the whole FAST crew for running another smooth event!
