Fire Extinguishers

Postby Solar » Thu Sep 18, 2008 3:24 pm

I can't remember if this was brought up already, but at Lakeland, Dave had pointed out to me that 2 or 3 FE's were in need of a recharge, (the gauge was at zero) has this been addressed yet?

now that you mention it, nope. They are in the trailer "as is."
And one full one was accidently partly discharged because the pin fell out and no one noticed, so there's 3 that need a fillup.

Pray for rain...

Lemme call the company I use for fire equipment at the office and see if they'll recharge something that isn't theirs.

I guess we'll talk...

Wouldn't be a bad thing to check into replacement rather than refilling. Most of those extinguishers are nearing 10 years old... and I'm sure ALL of them are at least 4-5 years old.

I wonder if this is the same one with tire marks on it and missing paint...

Steve and I discussed this matter over lunch and he's going to see how much it will cost to recharge compared to replacing. Then we'll take care of it accordingly, I know that 10lb FE are about $60 each, and they might not recharge them if they're deemed to old.

They aren't that old, either. At least 3 of them are only 2 years or so...

All done. Thanks to Brian K. for getting the FE's from the trailer, and me for taking them to the place for service. :D
