Wow... 6 runs on an 75-to-80-second course (unless you were Howard, who could do it in under 70, but not without hitting most of the cones), a fantastic course, awesome pizza... and nobody has anything to say about it?

Y'all are a bunch o' slackers! :P

I had a BLAST!!!! Great course too!! I will post video's as soon as I can edit myself going faster :lol: :wink: (Loren, I failed my PHSL dash plaque this time)
Real good time. Thanks to all that set it up. Video's and pictures to follow.

Howard..... 68 seconds???? What??? That just ain't natural! Wow, way to set the bar!!!

PS Jack, that race rubber suits you well! Damn.... you rose to the challenge. Or trash talk :shock: ! Either way, You da man! Great times.

WOW! What a fun course, nice and long and flowed really well, didn't know we could make a course that long, I say we keep the length in mind for the future events at Brooksville. 8)

Pizza was good, though wasn't sure if Charles and I would find the place, but some how we did. We were so turned around, once we found the pizza place, we had to ask directions on how to get back. Found out that it was only two turns away from the airport, but we made 8 or 9 going there. :lol: :lol:

Yep, thanks very much to Jeremy, Jack and Brian who set us up with a quick and challenging course. And thanks especially for adjusting it at the last minute.

Jamie - you'da been proud of Brian and me - we converted your 3 run groups into two in as much time as it took us to write it all down...thank goodness Jeremy stalled the event for us with a parade lap! Future event chairs take note - if we're gonna do longer courses like this more, we definitely will need 6 worker stations, not 4 - so let Jamie know if that's what your plan is, so he can set up workers.

Question: What do my driving and dirt have in common?

Answer: Everything! :x 6 runs, only one without a cone, and some kind of over- or under-steer on every one. Excuses? Sure I can offer about 13 or 14 of 'em, but it basically amounts to failure to suck less. or old tires, um, yeah, that's it... I think I had the push harder part down pretty well.

Aww, whatever. Once the rain cleared out it was a great day - surprisingly warm, actually, which was fine by me.

Greg Smith - thanks for staying to the bitter end to help pack up the trailer. The usual suspects were there, too, so the appreciation goes out to y'all as well.

We lost a radio. If anyone happens to find it, we'd like it back, please.

And just to rant a little, and maybe it's just me being a stickler for Roger Johnson, but in Chapter 2 Section 7 he pretty clearly states that a single, lay-down pointer cone is an apex, while multiple lay down cones are "directionals." Not just this course, but multiple ones in our past have used single pointer cones to indicate direction, but not apex - I think that's confusing to people. Ok, I feel better now...

I volunteered to chair the January 17 event after the novice school - I'd love to just co-chair with some else in the lead. Anyone?
We have 7 cases of water and more than a cooler full of a variety of sodas, almost all not diet. Almost all Pepsi and Sprite. Someone please get us some chunks of sheetrock, or a box of thick chalk!

The attrition must have been ugly. I've never bothered to do a two-group contingency before because we've never had that few people. Sorry I missed it all...I guarantee you had more fun than I....
Someone please get us some chunks of sheetrock, or a box of thick chalk!
I have another piece of sheetrock -- I'll break it down and get it out to the next event.

Well that was certainly one of the most enjoyable courses I've ever run with FAST ... and the worst driving I've done since ... ummm ... I can't remember! :shock: :cry:

I've got an excuse or two for every run. But only one reason: I just wasn't focussed.
The Jag complains about autoX by throwing Gearbox Faults.
I think it is just lazy.

Yah - 48 drivers. We made it in 2 groups that took about 100 min. or so each. It was nice out, not too torturous for the courseworkers. Some of the drivers got bored between runs though. But there weren't enough workers for 6 stations with 3 groups...it worked.

I had a great time today. It was nice being on some concrete for a change. Nice long course and went smoothly. i could have driven better for sure. That Yaris embarassed me again :(

wow, what a fun day! great course! very challanging 8)

i want personally thank john ward ,the guy with the yellow s 2000 for all the help working on my car to get her ready for the event. i could not have had it ready in time with out your help. 2 s2000 clutches in one day. damm were good! :wink:

Aaaaand, the official "da man" award goes to Jeremy Damico for laying down a 72.9 in a stock S2000 on street tires. (sorry, Jack... given Jeremy's performance, you should have countered with at least a 71.0!)

Other than me for some reason not being allowed to run with the rest of my class even after letting at least 3 people know i was changing classes and therefore my run/work group should be changed, i had a lot of fun... It would have been more fun being able to run at the same time as the guys i was racing against to compare times, and talk about the runs, etc... but my focus of being there was to see if the car would survive, not necessarily compare times, so this time i didn't care much, so i didn't really voice that.

This was my first event in my car, and it has a LOT of setup needed, and the nut behind the wheel needs to be adjusted to how the car handles with race tires now.... but all in all, a successful event considering what the car has been through in the last 2-3 months or so... I'm just thrilled that it survived the 3 hour drive over there and 3 hours back, and roughly 7 total minutes of hard run time on course that we had with this long course :)

All in all though, a great event! It was my first time at Brooksville, and i'm sure i'll be back... not often though, that 6 hour drive in one day is kinda rough... lol

Sorry about that. I do remember you telling me you needed to change your class, the problem was I forgot your name, and Steve and I were having to regroup everyone from three, into two run/work groups. Things were getting a little crazy there trying to make both groups an even amount of workers to drivers, and people kept popping their head in the trailer telling and asking us questions which was very distracting. Normally Jamie takes care of the run/work groups and classes, but he wasn't there, so his job went to us.

He's not alone! That means I should have been in the upper 73.x range myself. :? but instead I was content to suck :)

It was, as requested by everybody, fast and flowing and good fun.
Michael Long, thanks for the lesson, but Brian was the guy that found the second we both left on the course. Nice driving, Brian.
