Figured I'd go ahead and fire off a pre-event thread.

I'm chairing and have no idea what I'm going to do for a course, but hopefully the weather will be nice. I guess its down to the usual questions... who's bringing the trailer, who wants to do tech, etc etc.

Still plenty of time to plan, thankfully.

I expect that I will be available to bring the trailer.

CBP (Customs and Border Protection) decided to let me live here for another year. So unless I'm sent away on business all should be good.

Since were no longer using the NASA system, whats the price for the events? Is there a member/non-member price?

We're being intentionally "mysterious" about our new name, just because it amuses us to do so. (I think we should start making up different answers to the question "what is FAST?" and never use the same one twice) "FAST" stands for "Fun Autocross Society of Tampa". As a "society" rather than a "club", we aren't collecting dues and we don't have "members". Everyone will pay the same entry fee.

But what you really wanted to know is how much? Well, Steve is still working on the budget, so I'll let him announce that. It won't be $40, I can tell you that much!

I got yer Buffy right here, pal! (it's next to the 'fridge by the bar...)

Just as a general FYI for everyone - this "society" does have a member list, and membership is free. Becoming a member requires no effort on the part of the member. Our insurance company pretty clearly said the underwriters are much happier knowing there is an actual list of actual members.

Cost is $30 for everyone.
Registration will be on myautoevents.com - Jamie is doing a great deed getting us set up there (yay, Jamie!).

I'll post an "info" thread, with just a little more detail, and it'll be updated on the website, eventually.

Registration is now open on http://www.myautoevents.com, visible to everyone with access to a computer! Go to the site homepage and click on the link for autocross events -- we're on the January schedule.

Online registration will remain open until 11 Jan to give us time to compile the entries. Walk-ons are permitted if there's any space left. For those of you who want to guarantee your spot, pre-pay -- anyone else who hasn't checked in by 9:30 risks losing their spot. See the event annoucement for details.

I will be out of town most of the week before the event...will have the laptop with me, but probably won't be able to print out an entrant list. If someone could volunteer to do that (or better yet, pre-print entry forms...Loren? Please?) I'd be grateful.

Oh...I guess this means I've volunteered for registration. :)

I'll add in the next few events this weekend.

Rules? In a knife fight?

Actually, there are a few:
1. Sign the insurance waiver.
2. Pay the registration fee.
3. Enter and exit the course at the designated points, and stay on course in between.
4. No speeding off course.

Simple! :D

On December 2nd, I was elected to a full term to be CFR-SCCA District 8 Governor and since I don't see the "conflict of interest" I had with SCCA & NASA; you should see me at a few events in 2007 with FAST.

I'm even volunteering to work registration!

I've added a class picklist to the entry form. Those who'd like to edit their entry and class themselves are welcome to do so.

OK, Brian is doing safety, Bill is bringing the trailer (thanks, Bill!), Ron is doing registration. I've got the timing equipment that I need to somehow shove into my car with all my tires.

How are we on water and beverages and such? Do we need marble dust?

Edit: I finally registered!

I believe we are fine on the marble dust front...should be at least two bags, and probably more.

Not sure about fluids - I know there was some left over after last month, but I didn't load the trailer so I'm not sure.

Oh, and I picked up more batteries for the radios.
