Dec 1 Classic - Sunday after Black Friday
By the fourth run on, I was really getting a good feel for the back slalom. Glad it turned out to be a great event, and I liked the course.

"End of Summer" 16 November Points Event
I loved this course, very fun and fluid. Switching to G-Force Rivals from high end all-seasons is a HUGE change. I feel that I'm able to drive the car instead of fight it at every turn!

We had a blast out there. Loved the flowing feeling of the course.
Too bad I couldn't bring out the FR-S. Thankfully the Corolla was great, as usual. I didn't have it in me to best Ed in the Mazda 2; I guess I need more seat time!

I think I posted about this before actually. I use Torque on Android to get the information. Almost anything the OBDII reader can read, plus whatever the phone's sensors can pick up, can be recorded. I think it spits out the data as an excel. But logging that onto a video is something I lack experie...

I am so excited to see this build through! Looks like we'll have to step up my game, big time for S5! Ed and his Tercel could probably learn from your twist beam sway bar configuration.
I think having those paper temp plates really shows the "race what you got" attitude

Well Loren, I'll be back in the afternoon. I signed up for FN but with the coilover kit that puts me in M4... on all seasons  If you'd like to take a run or two, you're more than welcome. It already feels good to be back! I'm really excited to finally feel the Corolla out with these new shocks....

An update: The front motor mount has been replaced; after it sheared in half. Now there's no terrible shudder on take off. And I have found the source of the power steering leak... Here's the video; you may need to set the resolution to HD to see the leak in action. Thanks to Ed for helping me with ...

Get your tires mounted/balanced at Carl McKim's and then aligned/repaired at Joe Brannon's. I did just that! I already gave a s/o to Carl and the tires, so here's my $0.02 for Joe. Great guy and well equipped! I am super happy with the alignment on the Corolla. No more sloppy toe-out, and a bit of ...

Sad really, that Corolla is my favorite car to take pictures of. The bull bar isn't going anywhere, so there's that lol Speaking of the bar, I spent a bit of time today remounting it, so the hardware issue is solved! And over this weekend past, I did this: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/tb2L8TIu...

Tire installation and balancing, $45/set! FAST Only!
Just got my two tires mounted and balanced by Carl. Impressed with everything and really appreciative of the quality of the work he did! Definitely going to divert my tire business his way! And thanks for noting the dried out valve stems; something I wouldn't have noticed myself.

So, Car Tripoding
As an example of when it isn't too helpful: On my car, with the passenger side rear shock blown, any sort of quick direction change would have to be carefully executed; else that rear spring would preload fully, and then on the change in direction, would almost hop the car. There were times when I'd...

The Nexen N FERA comes in at 225/45/15 at its smallest, so that might work... My next modification would be tires, to be able to fully appreciate the coilovers. Pics and progress update coming soon.

Not a good tire? I think the MR2 has them on the front actually... not that fact says much about them...Loren wrote:No. Just no.

Fix that. I was planning on coming this saturday, but given the leak I decided against it. Photos would help. Like these here? Two of them seem fine. One rear needs the spring seat adjusted, as to not have a loose spring. The other one is the front that needs the mount replaced. Pictured, I have th...

So... anybody want to help me work these adjustable coilovers? Besides sticking the little hex key in to adjust damping, I haven't had much luck in changing the supposed ride height. And attempting to change the mount left me

It has now been a year since I started Autocross with FAST, and what a year it has been! Just over one year ago I was so worried about everything that could go wrong, and now here I am, enjoying every run I can get. With college out of the way and a job that pays truly useable money up next, it is t...
