I don't mind doing the beans, besides I figured FAST will pick up the meat budget, so the beans and sauce will be my donation.Loren wrote:Share the wealth, Brian. You don't need to do everything, or pay for everything.

Re: FAST 2013 Championship Awards Party
Loren asked me to come up with a friendly competition for the picnic and so I have. The question is...
Who's ready for some 'CrazyCross'???
CrazyCross is a friendly, timed competition with no cars needed and all members of your family are welcome to participate. No need to pre-register, everyone who wants to play can.
Will you dominate your class? Will you be the hero of the Awards picnic? Do you have what it takes to win? We will find out on the 17th.
I can hear the cheering crowds already!

Re: FAST 2013 Championship Awards Party
Just updated the list. We're up to at least 36 people attending this shindig!
It's probably a good time to have a look at that list (attached to the first post of this thread) and start filling in the blanks. Brian is doing BBQ, so if a couple or 3 people want to bring rolls (Brian's preference is yummy Hawaiian rolls), that would be good. Someone else is bringing chips, so some sort of dip (salsa? guacamole?) would be good. Anything that goes with BBQ would be good. Cole slaw? Potato salad? Deviled eggs?

I like the Hawaiian rolls, but even the cheap Publix hamburger buns are fine too.

Man I so wish I could go. But I'm taking my wife up to North Carolina to be with her mom while her dad gets a heart valve replaced.
Cones fear me... The timing lights, they just laugh.

Joe & all, the club's going to provide cups, plates and all that based on our final attendee count.

Re: FAST 2013 Championship Awards Party
Just updated the list again (attached to first post). Would be good if some people could look at that list and maybe try to fill in some blanks.
Some known stuff we need:
Rolls for pulled pork (little Hawaiian rolls or similar)
Dip for tortilla chips (salsa? guacamole?)
Other ideas:
Cole slaw
Deviled eggs
Veggies of some sort

Re: FAST 2013 Championship Awards Party
ok, put me down for the rolls, I'll get a couple different types.
My son may roll into town also, so if you can add him to the list, that would be great.
thanks,
Mike

Got it.
I put you down for Rolls for 20 people. If someone else can pick up enough for another 20, we're in business.

Great!
Updated the list again.
You guys bringing rolls, feel free to mix it up. Small soft rolls are good, but there's nothing wrong with a nice sesame seed bun, or whatever YOU like, too. Trust me, somebody will make a sammich out of whatever you choose to bring.

Re: FAST 2013 Championship Awards Party
I'm not an award winner as I'm new around here, but I would like to attend the partay anyway if that is okay? Looks like meat is covered pretty well, but I don't really cook other stuff. I can make some pretty killer BBQ chicken or turkey burgers that will make you forget beef exists. I can also bring a cornhole set if people would like?
