Some people just bring their RV with car in tow and enjoy AC and clean toilets all day long.

March 14 - Championship Event at Brooksville

Postby Inspecta » Fri Mar 13, 2015 4:18 pm

I wouldn't worry about flying tents, I would be worried about a flying 1.6 Miata in S4. I have a brand-new fatty front sway bar that says I'm going to be laying the smack down tomorrow.

I will be on the throttle earlier in the corner than when I wake up in morning… That's early because I'm in the early session.

well my "RV" doesn't go down the road so well. At least not without the aid of a very large truck.

Since you're 1.6 has no power, I think you should go ahead and get on the throttle this afternoon instead of waiting until morning.

Push Harder - Drive as close to the limit of your tires as possible.
Suck Less - Drive something resembling a proper racing line.

Tell me about it, I put my foot all the way to the floor and sometimes find myself calling for torque like it's a lost puppy. Here torque...here boy...where are you torque!!! [emoji217]

Regardless, I will be driving this snot out of my car tomorrow (FULL THROTTLE) yelling "I need more POWAHHH " at the cone shaggers.

Loren, sadly I just went out to the car to do a brake fluid change and spotted this crack in my tire that runs down to the cord. So unfortunately I am out for tomorrow.

I'm off to arm wrestle with Tire Rack for a replacement set of rear tires.

I'd attach a picture but I'm getting some scolding about the image being greater than 1600 pixels high.

Put a piece of duct tape over it. ;)

That is a pretty scary gash for sure, good thing you noticed it.

Hmmmm. It is Friday the 13th.
Good save finding that in your driveway rather than on the freeway. Are those Yokohamas? Don't recognize the tread.

You know I just read a thread on new 2015 Factory Z06 Michelin tires splitting if they got below 20F up north. Michelin came out with a warning about storing them in an unheated garage up North this nasty winter to take them off the car and store indoors or get AS tires to drive in the snow. When they say Summer Only they really mean it. No grip at 40F and crack down to cords below 20F.

that's actually common on all hi performance tires where the tread wear rating dips below 300. my kid's 2013 ZL1 had that issue and so does his 2014 Z/28, also true of the new toyo R1Rs I just put on my spyder.

I'm sure you're joking about driving on it, but for one it wouldn't pass tech, and two, he would be running the risk of a blowout and destroying his wheel and worse. ;)

There's your problem: your car is full of snot. That's probably 200-300 extra pounds to haul around. And we better not find it on the course!

I'll be disappointed if you do anything less now ;)

I'm not worried much about accelerating. I removed my brake lines to save weight. Since I'm in a miata I shouldn't be using them anyway :thumbwink:

Philip/Travis totally understands "trash talk" and will live up to his verbage. Correct. Brakes on a Miata are merely dead weight.

Go Philip/Travis.

Absolutely yes, what was Mazda thinking :headscratch:

I removed one brake line at a time so I could wean myself off them. I also removed the brake disks, unneeded unsprung weight.
